The average is 20% in California. I am of the belief that any tip is an appreciation on my end. I usually get more than 20% though. It just depends on the person.

My haircut yesterday ran me $9.99 (it was Great Clips and I had a coupon - usually it's $12.00). I tipped the cutter $3.00 - which is more than 25% and quite fair.

I usually give $5...if I get my hair colored I tip $10. If it is a bad cut, I usually give $2 or less and let them know I don't like it.

IT all depends on how well of a job the person cut your hair. Personally, I don't tip the person who cuts my hair, who is a lady, but she does an excellent job at it.

$5 if it was a cheap place like Fantastic Sams, if it was a nice place, and depending on if they do a good job, $10-20

depends on how much the cut was originally. I always think 3 pound is enough
