I agree with 'hayaa_bi_taqwa' on her detailed reply to the question, but wish to clarify on the meaning 'brotherhood'
Word Tutor, an online directory defines 'brotherhood' as "A group of persons with the same profession, religion, or background."
If the asker still has any doubt, s/he is free to contact me for further explanation.

Lol, I swear, looking at the answers so far, you could find better in a Cracker Jack box! Yellow and Lost are the exceptions.
Actually, Muslims aren't restricted to accepting and befriending only Muslims. There are a few who do this (some for political/nationality reasons), however anywhere you go you will find Muslims who have friends from all different religious backgrounds. I have tons and tons of Christian friends, a couple Hindus, I was good friends with a Buddhist who switched religions a few times, I know a few Jews by Yahoo interfaith groups and online buddies (haven't met any in person), lots of atheists and agnostics... as I mentioned in another answer, my contacts list is very cultured, lol.
The absolute best way to know the truth of Muslims is not by reading anti-Muslim websites, listening to what fundamentalist Christians have to say about Muslims; it is to meet a Muslim. You will quickly find that alot of your misconceptions about them disappear (eg hate all non-Muslims, try to convert everyone, don't shower, use animals for sexual gratification = the dumbest of them all, etc). If you don't have the opportunity to meet Muslims, you can message me and become part of my international interfaith buddies.

I know quite a few muslims and I am not muslim and never have they made me feel like an outcast. They all accept me and never has any of them as me to convert to thier faith. So maybe you know the wrong muslims or you do not know any and are just speaking on the things you have heard. Which are not true. Muslims are very caring and giving people despite what you see in the Media.

There is a very important principle in Islam called "Al Wala'a wal Bara'a", which means that Muslims are ordered to love other Muslims and never love non Muslims.

Its this kind of question that makes Muslim laugh at the increasing ignorance in the western world, and be more proud of whatever they believe in. They are just vigilant about us cause we are stupid enough to declare the actions of few as testimony that 2 billion people "terrorists", not to mention that we are bombing their cities killing their children just to promote freedom, liberty and justice through WAR! ignorant person might say you have to fight for what you believe, and that war in sometimes important in Oder to get peace, what a load of crab, war shouldn't be a substitute for peace. Again ignorant person might say "well they started it" what a morons, don't they know to defeat the damn terrorist we have to isolate the terrorist and them alone and kill them all, but not make more mess by producing more potential terrorist by isolating 2 billion people?!

Brothers are people of the same blood as you or those who share the same faith thats why non muslims are not brothers. However Islam is a religion of peace which extends to all people regardless of race, religion and ethnic background.

They don't...they are killing each other in droves too. Not the civilized practitioners of the religion but the militaristic jihadists kill anyone including other muslims whenever they feel like it. Brotherhood?

Well, if that's how they define fraternity then you certainly do not want to be an outsider in their midst...

Good question! They seem to be unwilling to extend the peace to all (Islam supposedly means peace).
