Jesus is God's only-begotten Son, not only Son.

Only begotten, means create alone, because after that, Jesus was involved in the creation of all living things.

Jehovah has an innumerable amount of sons in Heaven; Job 1:6, Daniel 7:10. And he is in the process of adopting many faithful humans; Romans 8:19-23.

Adam is no longer.

The key is the word begotten.
The word you left out.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

There is a difference between begotten and adopted or any other adjective.
Luke 3:38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
Adam was A son of God as in the above verse. Not begotten though.

Jesus is God's only *begotten* son. Begotten meaning rather than the normal lovemaking between a human man and woman... God basically picked out marry and activated one of her eggs. (No, I don't believe there was anything sexual going on... Mary was still a virgen... He's God, he can do what he wants...)

We can all choose to be God's children... but he gives us the ability to choose. Think of it as sort of an adoption... only better.

Adam was god's creation, and thereby sort of his child... but he didn't go through the whole birth thing.

Jesus is Gods only begotten son. The rest of us are like an extended family of god. Starting as his creation as humans. Jesus is biologically God's son, so to speak. But because of His death and resurrection, we are all sons and daughters in Christ.

God Directly Created only one person, That was Jesus, and all other things were created through Jesus, That is why Jesus is considered his only begotten son. Check out Colossians 1:15-16, it gives you a pretty clear picture

Jesus is God's only-BEGOTTEN son. To beget something means to produce, or create it. God created Jesus as His first creation. After that, He used his son, much like a contractor subs out work, to create everything else. Christ is the only thing God has actually made all by himself.

Jesus was "begotten" of God. It means that Jesus was from the loins of God, a son of His own nature. WE, Adam, Eve, and their descents, were CREATED. We are the creatures of God, formed by Him. Yes, that makes us sons and daughters in a sense. But we were not BEGOTTEN. We were formed by the hands of God and given life. Jesus was conceived by God's Spirit.

John 1

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

Adam is God's creation, made from dust. Maybe clay. I'm not sure. Not his son. There is no mother involved in Adam's situation.
