Is it expensive?

Yes. It's about $25 a month in my area. There are different stations and you move and do different types of exercises. It is nice because there are no guys checking out the women-it's all women just working out and trying to be healthy. I found it to be a positive experience and good atmosphere.

Yes I have been there. The atmosphere is pleasant but it is not worth the money. It is a circuit workout, so you move from machine to machine every few minutes so that you can get a total body workout. However I only reccomend it for those who have not exercised at all for years, or need to start out very lightly. You will most likely see toning and losing some inches from this routine over a period of time but you will probably not lose a lot of weight. Think of it is a goign through a quick rotation through the gym's weight lifting machines. You never really get your cardiovascular work out that you need to burn calories and get your heart rate up.

Yes, I've been to it and it didn't really help me personally, but it helped my mom out a lot. It really depends on the person and how active you are BEFORE you join curves. If you're an extremely active person before you join, it won't really help you. But if you don't exercise much and you plan to join curves as your main outlet of exercise, then it will definitely help you. With most women, they burn a little bit of fat but mostly they lose inches when they join curves, because curves is a gentle work out with weights, which tones the muscles. There isn't much cardio, but that seems to be okay for a lot of women because most women are pleased with the results of just slimming down by toning. It's a good place overall.

I am a member and am seriously thinking about quitting.

The workout isn't all that challenging and the equipment isn't sanitized between uses due to the nature of circuit training. It kinda skeeves me out that other women are sweating on the machines before I use them.

Also, the "trainers" tell you to push hard on the machines, but it is difficult to do that and maintain proper form. I'm scared that I will either catch some weird gym funk or hurt myself due to the ineptness of the trainers.

I have been to a similar thirty minute gym, and the machines are not enough, the exercise isn't enough. It's perfect for someone who is already size two and just needs to keep a little flab off though.

I went with a friend once on a guest pass. It was mostly older women and I am in pretty good shape so I felt like it wasn't that great of a workout.

I did the free trial for two weeks. Very enjoyable. Know people that do go and love it. I never did sign up, unfortunately.
