You answer a question from some guy here on YA in which he's complaining about his girlfriend's behavior (or attitude). Your response is to tell him to talk to her about it.

But when you answer a question from a girl in which he's complaining about his girlfriend's behavior (or attitude). Your response is to tell him to DUMP THE JERK.

Why do you suppose our kneejerk reaction is to rationalize the girl's behavior as the product of some external force, but we automatically conclude that the guy is a jerk?

And no. girls, this is NOT another opportunity to tell us ALL about the "horrible" double standard about guys and girls who sleep with a lot of people. Save your keystrokes, please/

collegebusygirl,

I don't see how my question says (or even implies) that "ALL females have double standards."

This is another one of those kneejerk responses whenever a question of this nature comes up. I was deliberate in using the words "you" "your" "we" and "our" so as not to identify one particular group as being guilty of imposing double standards

You're name is pretty accurate - apparently you're to "busy" at college to actually read.

Ah... the perils of cut-and-paste

2nd paragraph should read: But when you answer a question from a girl in which she's complaining about her boyfriend's behavior (or attitude), Your response is to tell her to DUMP THE JERK.

I am a woman and I can't stand them. I hate women, all they ever do is complain. If they want things to be equal, then make it equal. Trust me, and this is a good example, things are not equal. I feel bad for men.

it all depends on the personal experiences of the answerer, many a times, but those who are professionally qualified to counsel, like me for example, will take an objective view of the problem presented, and try to analyse both the sides.
normally, every body thinks that guys are flirtatious, and use the girls, as you have mentioned about the sex promiscuity, loose morals influence how one looks at the relationships. if serious relationships can not be formed, that means, these people are emotionally immature, and thrive only on physical pleasures. but the time comes, when they may also need some one to share their joys and sorrows, at that stage, they wil be lonely.
i think whenever such questions are asked, all the details should be given, to get a perfect picture. the answer has to be balanced, and as a guideline, not telling the asker, as you have rightly said, dumping some body, or otherwise !
afterall, there are human beings involved, and great care should be taken to deal. even tarot readers provide only the chances of the events, or the likely turns, it' never a fortune telling session.

You have a double standard. I believe you mean...

"But when you answer a question from a girl in which she is complaining about her boyfriend's behavior (or attitude). Your response is to tell her to DUMP THE JERK".

The answers on here are usually treated on a case by case basis. Usually though it is assumed the man is cheating or some such BS.

I would never tell anyone to dump someone else its not my problem, I think it all depends on the complaint anyway..... if it is a question of trust then I would say they are probably with the wrong person in the first place....guy or girl.... if it is just a question of finding someones faults before they find their own I would probably suggest that they get over it, no one is perfect.....guy or girl...
as for everyone else and why they might have a doule standard that is on them, again, not my problem...

I can't speak for everyone on here, but I say that they should both talk it out...
but I have to agree i've seen that a lot, and sometimes the question is basically the same exact thing!! My only theory behind it is that more women TEND to be open to talking things out than men.. but still.. i agree with you.
I posted an innocent question about my boyfriend and had several people tell me to leave him and yet saw one the other day that the girlfriend was all but cheating on this poor guy and they should talk it out... for shame people.

Though when i was told to leave him on here i had a guy or two post it also.

good thought.

Some of the females on here answer that way because they have probably recently been hurt by a guy. But whenI answer on here I give pretty much the same advise to everyone. I don't judge anyone for their answers. If a guy says he caught his gf cheating, I would say to dump her, say if a girl caught her bf cheating on her. So please before you say all females on here have a double standards, rephrase your questions. My guess, is that you didn't like an answer that someone gave you....

because it's just easier to tell a guy to sit down and talk w/ his girl and actually see hope of some results than it is for a woman to sit down with a man and see any results. i truly believe that it's much more likely to reach a woman by sitting her down than it is a man. and it also depends on the situations a lot of the questions guys have are not similar to the girls. many girls are asking about cheating bf's and abuse where the guys question i answered earlier was how to ask his gf to lose weight. i'm not saying that many aren't similar but it's a question by question situation for me becuase if i read a guy question and the girl is shady i tell him he should leave her too.

It goes back to the infamous say "all men are dogs" that idea has been so ingrained into our society that both men and women view men the same way and i sucks for good guys like me to get lumped in with the rest and have girl play games with use to find or true nature.

I am maybe one of the few who feel that a lot of problems in relationships is caused by the girl, because most guys are clueless in relationship "games". I get really frustrated with females that get involved with someone thinking "I can change him and make him the perfect boyfriend/husband" and then get all mad and hurt when the man doesn't change.
If you love a person, you accept their faults as well as their good points. If you feel they will change, you are lying to yourself and setting yourself up for disappointment.

the only people who give good advice on here are girls... and it's easy when it isnt a real situation to just say "dump the jerk".

but really, sometimes the back of the hand works best to get a girl to do what you want, none of this talking garbage.
