Imagine teaching your child that walking across the street with a blindfold on is healthy. Would you be outraged if I did that?

Excellent question and of course teaching children about God, and especially the Bible, is child abuse.

Many parents don’t allow their kids to watch various TV programmes or movie films, or read certain books, because they contain too much hatred, violence, killing, and murders which may cause negative thoughts and behaviour in their children.

However these same parents allow their kids to read the Bible, yet the Bible contains some of the worst hatred, violence, killing, and murders ever witnessed in humanity. Certainly the Bible also contains some nice parts as do many of these other books, TV and films.

This is just hypocrisy when it comes to the Bible. In a child’s mind, hatred, violence, killing, and murders are all troublesome, yet the Bible is by far the worst offending material ever written by man.

Religious people are so cruel to their children – God is just a monster.

Nothing could possibly be more mentally damaging to children than telling them over and over again from birth there exists an invisible person (God or whatever) who is unwilling to prove he exists watching them every second of every day, reading their thoughts, and if they don't believe in this invisible person they will be tortured for eternity.

Yet we tell the same children that monsters don't exist so it's silly to be scared of monsters. Yep, it's definitely child abuse.

For you God doesn't exist. Now we can turn that argument around - if He does exist then it's an abuse not to teach about Him. Without knowledge we are blind, if you walk across the road with a blindfold on you'll end up in the ditch (at best).

Teaching and forcing to believe are two very different things. Force is child abuse, teaching is allowing your children to be educated about the world and to make their own decisions. You could teach my child that walking across the street blindfolded is healthy, and I will teach them it is not and they can decide on their own.

No I do not belive sharing ones beliefs and faith with their children in the same category as beating a child. I believe it is our natural right to raise our children as our faith asks. Teaching a blindfolded child to walk across the street can actually be useful. Perhaps the child is blind or going blind. It can also help him to better understand blind people. But those of us who have faith are hardly blind.

May be.Consider the following biazrre storybook scanario:

1-God is perfect but
2-God creates a Lucifer that defies him
3-God lets Lucifier enable man to defy god
4-Man is now so corrupt he must be sent out of the garden
5-All men now condemned to Hell
6-THEN,rather than just stop making men condemed to Hell,
God continues to make man as is,sin and all,and MUST send
a savior to convince man away from Hell.

Why doesnt god just make man without original sin IF he has the power to do it? See what I mean.

And the bible is the most violent book of all time.It has caused more war and hate than all other books combined,so yes,it is abusive.

I know you'll catch some hell for this but WHAT the hell.

there ia big difference. No one dies from waling accross the street and beleiving in God. This is an extreme question not to be taken seriously obviously. I beleive you should teach your child there is something more out there, there is a higher power on your side when no one else might be. Its a beautiful message and hope to have.

Teaching my children to live in opposition to God's Word would the the ultimate in child abuse. I want them to live a long, healthy lives knowing love and peace. That can only come through the Bible.
