The word is a newly created warped form of BOMBASTIC. Bombastic is an adjective from BOMBAST, which is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as 3. fig. Inflated or turgid language; high-sounding language on a trivial or commonplace subject; ‘fustian’; ‘tall talk’. So I suppose BOOM + BOMBASTIC would be REALLY TURGID HIGH SOUNDING LANGUAGE used by someone. Or, since it is an adjective, it could describe such a person. For instance, Rush Limbaugh comes to mind, or that crazy guy who talks about stocks at the top of his voice. Someone who is to tense and wound up and talking about something like it is the end of the world. TV preachers would be boombastic. There you go. Cheers.
