animals are smarter than we give them credit for.
I think it's neat that you might recongize this.
Go ahead and treat your cat the way you feel she
might react to things.
I tend to believe that emotions and feelings
are VERY REAL to your cat!

Well, you probably did hurt her feelings, but I mean, it's so hard not to laugh when they do something like that. Ours did something like that one day and I laughed at her because I couldn't help it. It doesn't mean you're a bad person. You had a natural reaction to your kitty tripping. Cats DO tend to get embarassed just like we do. Don't sweat it. By the next day, she'll be over it. :)

Yes, you did indeed hurt her feelings. You go and make amends immediately. Be sincere and contrite because she will know if you're faking. What's up with laughing at an animal's misfortunes, anyway? Is that typical of you, or are you displacing something onto the cat? Quit it; just quit it right now, and go talk to your cat. She'll be forgiving if you're genuinely sorry. Now go.

Not at all, animals have feelings just like we do! My Mom's dog can give you a more dirty look than a person! I've seen a cat with a huge surprised look on it's face. Dogs grieve over loosing their master. Yup they are just like us. My Mom's dog also knows when you're talking about her. Our dog snapped at our son one day and came in the room where we were. I told him he was bad and to go tell Jimmie you are sorry. He got up, went to my son's room sat down next to him and hung his head. If that wasn't understanding what I said, I don't know what it would be! Haven't you ever seen a dog get embarrased if you see him move his bowels? They let you know they don't want you watching!

No, I don't think you are reading too much into it cause one time I read that cats do not like to be laughed at. They don't like making mistakes and somehow they know when we are laughing at them an it makes them mad.
I laughed at my cat for falling into the washing machine. No water in it and not running so he wasn't in danger. He didn't even fall all the way in he was hanging on and I laughed at him and helped him up and he got mad at me.

yes, i've had probably over 30 cats in my life time, i have two now,12 and 6 they do have feelings, very deep ones at that. they get mad at you, they get embarrassed, they get their feelings hurt, they even know when you are upset too. so good luck with your kitty, just pick her up and love on her and pet her a little bit, and she will forgive you.

Probably, but she will probably forget it.
I laughed myself silly when my kitten fell from the bed - he looked embarassed too - but it's all right now. Worry not.
