My daughter-in-law calls me "lady" but she does it in such a cute, humorous way that I don't mind. I would rather be called by my first name but I understand it is hard for some to do this. I'm just glad she calls me something and doesn't call me "hey you" or something mean.

I agree with the majority of answerers. I won't be married until next month, but I call the soon to be mom in law by her first name.

I call her by her first name. Then when I got a puppy I named it after her! She didn't know if it was a compliment or an insult. We still laugh about it to this day and I have kept her wondering for 16 years!

To her face? or in person? I am kidding. I call her by her first name. She has never felt like a second mother and never asked me to call her anything so I use her name.
