hi peeps
ive been seeing a guy for about 3 months, at first i thought it would just
be a one night thing, but it wasnt and was quite surprised. but i have a few
problems, im finding it really hard work, hes been hurt in the past and i
feel that he just wont open up, keeps blowing hot and cold, one night i just
let rip and told him that i was sick of feeling like some spare part, and it
was make or break time, he apologies for it, and said he had been single for
over three years, and i guess it was hard or is hard to include me in the
things he does. he then said i will have to sort my life out for you wont i.
I have given him plenty of chances for him to finish it, but he doesnt seem
to want to, he just keeps saying im crap, im useless, at this boyfriend
thing. i dont think ive got it in me!! it rather confusing, and i am not
sure what to do?
do i keep trying or am i fighting a loosing battle???

A lot of men use that line to keep women at bay (where they want them and when they want them). Women have to wisen up and realize if you don't think you deserve better no one else is going to give you better or treat you better. I wouldn't waste my time or life on someone who doesn't want what I want. If he chooses to live in the past, let him stay in the past and you move on into the future.

Sounds to me as though he is preparing himself for the inevitable. If he was hurt badly in the past, he wants to be ready for when he is dumped.

He must have been very close to his last girl and the break up may have come out of the blue and took him by surprise. Now he wants to be ready. Not realising that in trying to be ready he is inadvertently destroying what could turn out to be the best thing to happen him.

Sad thing is only time will heal this. Do you love him enough to wait? Only you will know that. You have to have a serious think about what you want to do and then have another talk with him and let him know where he stands.

He sounds like a nice guy with some issues. You can't change him, but you can be there for him if you feel stongly about him. If he's not willing to do the emotional work he needs to do, then you have no choice but to move on. Your encouragement might be enough to get him to see what he needs to do. It's all up to you, though... only your heart knows for sure how you feel about him.

If it's becoming to hard you just have to stop and think about your number 1. You have to release that if you can't take much more you could be upsetting yourself for nothing. If you think you can honestly make it work then try but don't you get hurt in the process

Give him space, so much space that you forget his name and if he wants you he'll come back begging to spend every minute making you happy. You have to be strong and stay away or it wont work.

I say cut and run. He obviously has some issues, or just really isn't that into you.

move on... what's the big deal? You're not married, so there's no requirement to "work" hard at it.

find another... so will he.
