It would depend on the individual cat's intelligence, how it was treated when it was trapped the first time and also how hungry it happens to be when it goes by the trap the second time.

Sure. We used to play games with our cat, and if the treat was good enough he'd jump into the same box he knew would fall over. I guess the fall didn't bother him very much (about a foot onto carpet), and he sure liked the treats!
Cats are very clever in the moment, but their little braims aren't so good at traps. You should be much smarter than any cat.

It is possible but the second time the cat may not be so easy to catch as it might have wisened up after the first time being caught.

sure it is..we have a cat trap..dont worry..its not harmful..you put food inside..and when it walks in..a motion detecter goes off and shuts the door..we ahve trapped squirrles...and tons of wild cats...we take them to animal shelters in my town and they get nice holmes! :) good luck and god bless

surely if you catch it once you have caught it and therefore do not need to catch it again. i think if you lose a cat more than once you need to work on how you keep the cats not how you catch them...
