It would depend on many factors such is this normal for you? what age are you? does hypertension run in your family? do you have any other conditions such as diabetes which could effect the kidneys which could result in high b.p. Weight is also a factor, as is smoking, like you mentioned, although this usually only has a ccumalative effect as the years go by due to narrowing of the arteries. Cutting out stimulants such as coffee and ciggerettes helps immediatley.

U are so right about that. if you know what your blood pressure is, why didn't the Dr. put you on high blood pressure meds? You need to go back and get treated. HBP can lead to stroke, heart disease, and kidney failure.
