I have limited options, as I will most likely be the only non-adult there.
I can bring a notebook and color, or bring a book, but I still want to hear what you think.

What age are you, dear?? Coloring book... my oh my. At family reunions there are usually families... which mean other creatures of similar ages... grans, pops, ma and da's... and other teenagers. You can all stand in the corner and hiss at the adults...

You should know that nothing beats family and that not all families have reunions. Actually some people have no families at all. So you should be grateful you have a family that is close knit like that. Even if you are the only child there am sure there is a lot you can do to keep entertained...or better still entertained the rest. Am sure they'd love to hear from you as well. There is a lot you can learn from your grandparents Uncles and aunts about your family history that you will someday tell your own kids. There is also a lot you can learn about life. The Elderly are very wise. We are all going to grow old and Grey someday and no one likes feeling unappreciated. SO appreciate your family. It doesn't matter whether they are rich, old or boring. They are your family and that's all you've got!

Enjoy the family that God has given you while you can. They won't last forever and then you gonna start wishing you had paid more attention when they are gone.

Organize a trivia challenge ahead of time. Get the adults to tell you funny and embarassing stories about each other. Then print up a trivia contest for people to answer who did it. Examples: "which grey-haired grandma was caught smoking pot and expelled from St. Mary's Catholic school?" Or "how many first born children were born less than 9 months after the wedding?"
It will sure have you be remembered and you can be amused while learning family history.

Try something that will bring some excitement to their boring reunion like running a flatuation contest or sending the loudest Bronx cheer. The winner could ask anyone to streak across the lawn at midnight.

This is a GREAT opportunity....don't waste it.
Take a notebook and pens.
Begin with the olderst family member there. Tell them you are working on a project which you will be using in shcool. (Wait...this is NOT a lie!)
Explain that you want them to tell you stories of your family that are interesting, funny, scary, or of historical interest. TAKE NOTES.
Now, move on to the next oldest family member.
At the end of the day, you will have material enough for every creative writing assignment you will EVER have to do.

This is a good time to find out about your lineage. Many of the people at the reunion are old, and you are still young. Take pen and paper, write down names and places, births and deaths. Take this time to investigate your heritage. Good Luck!

Instead of being an outsider join in. Ask questions. If you really want to make it interesting ask embarrassing questions and see if they will answer. Help out with food and stuff. When you do get bored go around and ask people silly questions. Make it fun for yourself. Adults like to act like kids again.

Just avoid going. Esp. if you are gonna be the only child there. It's a waste of time even thinking about it. Find something else to do like going to the mall with friends or invite them along so you'll be less miserable.

go talk to all the old people about the things others' don't want you to know about.
i found out that my grandpa rode his horse into the courthouse while he was drunk on moonshine - trying to sell moonshine to the judge.
you can find out all kinds of things about your family from talking with the old people.
here's a hint: take along a scratch and sniff thing to put in a locket or ring or something so you can smell that instead of 'old people smell'.
