In Judaism, they don't believe that Jesus was the messiah, and they are still waiting for the messiah. Christianity believes that Jesus was the messiah, and he came to save everyone from sin. They are very different, although their roots are the same--same God, same book (First 5 books of the Bible are the Jewish Torah), etc.

A few good answers here. A few other differences:

Judaism teaches that "God" is pure spirit, neither male nor female.

Mainstream Judaism has always taught that the Messiah will be a human being, not a demigod.

Jews do not believe in hell.

Many Jews believe in reincarnation.

The tenets of Judaism do not condemn Christians as Christianity's tenets condemn Jews.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all have the same basis. They are religions created in a volatile part of the world and were used as a form of government to control the populace. The all have the duty to be evangelical, and they all claim that they are the only true faith.

What most people in the US fail to realize due to the fact that Christianity is so widespread in this country, is that most religions, and even most people in the world, do not have these tenants as part of their faith.

I suggest some reading. Two good books I've just read on the subject are "The Jewish approach to God: A breif introduction for Christians" by Rabbi Neil Gillman and and "The Gospel of Moses: What my Jewish friends taught me about Jesus" by Athol Dickson.

They have virtually nothing in common other than they are both religions. Jews don't even consider Christianity to be monotheistic.
