I assume that you pray. Well, think back to the recent times when you have. Were you wearing a head covering, like a veil or a scarf? If not, you have violated Scriptural instructions!

Read I Corinthians 11:5-6. It says that a woman who prays without a head covering should be shorn.

You know you've broken the rule. So go, right now, and cut off all your hair! You don't want God mad at you!

[Don't tell me that this was just for back then. God's word is eternal!]

The Bible is the biggest load of garbage and codswallop ever written by man, and I’m sure it will go down in history as the greatest load of gobbledygook ever to inflict such traumatic mental and physical damage on humanity, but still today, some people sadly believe the Bible to be true. That’s very sad indeed. Very sad.

Religious people pop up from under every stone with the same old garbage. “That was the old Bible, or we’ve changed the meaning, or wrong interpretation, or we’ve changed the context, or the quotes are out of context or or or, excuse after excuse.”

First, before attacking us, please realize there is such a thing as "context" and "purpose". That is, certain things apply to certain people at certain times under certain conditions. There are some concepts and teachings meant for all people, at all times, under all conditions, as well.

If I were to tell you, "Make sure you nail that metal strip firmly into the wheel of your car", would you call me a madwoman? Not if you and I lived prior to the invention of rubber tires. Context applies to all things.

Even so, a Biblical example of context is the brazen serpent: While the Hebrews were in the wilderness, if they were to be bit by a snake, they were to look upon the brazen serpent to be healed. It did not apply to the Hebrews before the Exodus, nor did it apply to the Hebrews after entering the Promised Land. It did not apply to Gentiles, period. It did not apply to scorpion stings, poison ivy, or chickenpox.

Secondly, you failed to read the rest of the chapter. Continue reading, down to verses 15-16.

"But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God."

In plain English: God gave women the ability to look good with long hair, so it would act as a veil. If anyone wants to argue about the veil, the area Paul was in had no such custom, nor did the other churches had that custom either.

Hence, we can derive that that passage applied to the Corinthian church only (and by proxy, any area where it is customary for a woman to wear a veil, such as in Arab populations).

Given the whole chapter, we can understand that Paul is not just talking about veils... but rather, following appropriate customs. Although, by Christ, I am free to not wear a veil (and especially so since I have long hair), for the sake of conscience, if I were to visit an Arab nation, I would wear a veil as to not offend them. If I were to visit a formal party, I would wear a formal dress, so that I do not offend. If I were to visit a Japanese family, I would remove my shoes before entering the house, and slurp my soup heartily, so that I do not offend them.

And yes, God's word is indeed eternal. But that does not mean all things within it are meant for everyone in specific detail.

According to your logic, (referring to the last chapter in Proverbs here) the wife that buys an acre of land is better than the wife who is a real estate agent... or the wife that spins cloth and makes clothing is better than the wife who does the clothes shopping. That is not the case. Here, both are as equals... one, in one time, or one locale, may buy land, while another buys properties. One may spin clothes, the other buys them.

And again... One may wear a veil to cover her head, the other uses her God-given veil to cover her head. It is both the same.

there are approaches to exercising person-friendly sexual issues in marriage. some human beings succeed at doing that, and some human beings do not. i'm getting it that some females who keep themselves and then discover they have married a foul lay like it to be God's fault, yet why ought to God ought to take the blame for this problem and quite some different issues that he receives such undesirable press for? because God invented the corporation of marriage? because God created prepared religions that sanction marriage? From what i'll inform, we extremely do have loose will, and that signifies that we make our own selections about such issues as who we marry and what we do if there are problems with sex, funds and all of those different themes that ought to have an outcome on a wedding ceremony.

You need to finish reading the New Testiment, later on the apostles say, that a woman's hair can count as a veil or head covering, seeing as I'm not bald, I think I'm doing just fine thank you.

Those Corinthians! They were quite a talkative bunch, weren't they? Paul was always writing to them....

I think the only thing the Corinthians should have any say in is leather. Sounds like they do THAT quite well.

Paul was addressing dissention among the church at Corinth. He knew the Jews and the Greeks do opposite things according to their culture and tradition. (Keep in mind the only mention of headcovering for the Jew, was for the males, the Levites, who wore "bonnets" when they waited upon the Lord in the Tabernacle or Temple.) Tradition was created by both men and woman in regard to headcoverings. Virgins were Veiled before marriage and we have one example of Rebekkah covering her head when she saw Isaac approacing, her new husband. No commands from God in regard to head veiling of women or men. They did it on their own....back to the question....Greeks uncovered their head when they prayed. Jews covered their head when they prayed. Paul tells them we have NO SUCH CUSTOMS in the body of Christ. Best question? Do we have any CUSTOMS which ARE REQUIRED in the body of Christ? No. Do we strive to not offend another? YES. Paul did not want the Jewish women to offend the Greek women, and visa versa. He was trying to implement a agreement with his stamp of approval for ALL the woman and men. Keep in mind, he told the Jewish men to UNCOVER their HEAD to pray. Tradition taught all Jewish males were to keep their head covered at all times! Remember this is the man who said if "eating meat were to offend my brother, I will eat no meat for as long as the world stands."

If you hold to I Corinthians 11 as command in regard to headcovereings, then all men must uncover their head and shave, because there is HAIR given as a covering. The SOLE and ONLY purpose of women veiling was to show subjection to their HEAD or HUSBAND. Our culture has NEVER done this. Yet, if I am in a culture which does, I am admonished to not OFFEND.

Not only does a woman's hair count as her "Glory" and "Covering", but any man; Husband, Church leader and of course CHRIST in her life counts as her "Covering." Those who are called to "Watch over the woman" who is "Easily decieved by her emotions---example: Garden of Eden" count as the woman's "covering" while she is praying "Without ceasing", which includes while she is taking a shower and has to wash her hair.

You seem to lack some basic logic while allowing your hate for the CHRISTianity taught by CHRIST Himself to overwhelm you. Hate will devour you my friend. Try to let go of at least some of it.

God is supposedly mad at all females for being females, because to Christians the creation of life is a sin.

Hey, I'm a harlot by biblical standards. I wear gold and pearls and costly array and occasionally a touch of glitter on my shoulders. I also dress in slacks ("male attire") sometimes, which Paul would have considered an abomination.

Like I should care.
