Have you had that brainwave scan yet? That is the ONLY way to properly diagnose ADHD. If not, you should. There are too many misdiagnosed cases, and too many overmedicated people. A lot of doctors get perks for perscribing certain drugs. People live with a label, and actually cater to it. It is self-fulfilling. By simply altering your diet and getting more exercise, you can change the way your brain works. You may have to consult a dietician, psychologist, or PhD to determing what types of foods and exercises will work for you, but you will find something.

First of all, are you certain it's ADHD and not depression? There are medications available for both. You should know that some pharmaceuticals can be really dangerous to some people. If you're put on meds, PLEASE be very self-aware, and report concerns to your doctor pronto.

Drugs aside, you will benefit without a doubt from an increase in exercise. It's a natural source of mojo and, depending on the exercise selected, it's something that can require very little focus. If you decide to take a nice stroll 'round your familiar neighborhood, that would require less concentration than, say, riding a bicycle because you'd need to stay alert for traffic. But if you're on a stationary bike, you can let your mind wander. Know what? You'll find yourself focusing on things that need your attention. See if that works for you, too.

I'm not prepared to answer this question (SORRY!) but I would really like to hear from you regarding your condition. My son is almost 4 and he was diagnosed with ADHD at 3, also. How have you handled this for all those years? Did it get worse as you got older? Easier? I am very interested in your story! Thanks!!!
