BBQ sauce is Definitely a matter of individual taste - and many of make our own - and are not very eager to give out that secret recipe.
Of the commercial versions, my personal favorite is Gates Original. It is best served in the Gates BBQ outlets (found only in Kansas City) ... but they do bottle it commercially and offer it in grocery stores ... it is available in the Kansas City area ... but I am not sure how wide spread the distribution reaches.
If you have an opportunity .. please try it .. it is unique.

I like to mix KC Masterpiece, Bulls Eye, Open Pit and French Dressing into a sauce pan. In separate pan, fry up bacon, onions, red peppers, Worcestershire sauce and a dash of brown sugar. Add to BBQ sauce and simmer for 1/2 hour.
Then I put the BBQ sauce back in the jars and store in the fridg. for future BBQ's. Yummmm!

Tangy Espresso BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
12 ounces of chili sauce
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
Directions
Whisk together chili sauce, vinegar, sugar, espresso powder, and mustard. Bring to a low boil, and reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer for 2 minutes. Baste the meat well the last 8 to 10 minutes of grilling. This also makes a great dipping sauce, so you might want to make extra.
