1) I wouldn't send anyone to Hell, since it's infinite punishment and no one is infinitely evil.

2) I don't hide out in Never-Never Land and demand people believe in me, without proof or even evidence.

3) I wouldn't sit idly by while natural disasters ("Acts of God") happen, or while massive human atrocities occur. Say what you will about Free Will, but when a child is about to hurt themselves or others, a caring parent intervenes.

4) I'd take responsibility for myself. I wouldn't create imperfect beings, then get all mad when they turn out to be imperfect, and go do something rash like drown everybody.

Yep, I'm better than God.

Christians invented a very imperfect deity. Wipe away the misty loving illusions to reveal their core beliefs and you find that they actually, truly consider "God" a monster.

1.) Hell is infinite punishment. Those who do not believe in God and His son do go there. He puts us here and gives us a chance and if we don't take it then we go there. We are here for Him.

2.) God gave us something called Free Will. We are free to believe whatever we want, do whatever we want, and live however we want. Forcing someone to give you a birthday present isn't satisfying at all, it is only meaningful if they do it on their own. See the correlation?

3.) Parents don't always intervene and sometimes people get hurt, thus the Free Will idea. Natural disasters are only disasters because of what man-made structures are destroyed. The Earth was created to balance and fix itself and thats just what it is doing, whether we are in the way or not.

4.) He says we are imperfect and full of sin. Read that part of the Bible and you will find the answer. Don't just assume he flooded the Earth because he was pissed.

No you aren't better than God. Get over yourself. Look at the delicate balance of life and species on this planet. Everything works together perfectly... circle of life if you will.
I am a senior status biochemistry major and I for one think that the theory of evolution is a lot harder to believe than a divine being. A big ball blew up 13 billion years ago and now we are here? It supposedly took 20 million years for a giraffe's neck to grow long like it is now. What about all the neuron's in his brain? What about all of the development of his muscles? According to that timeline that must have taken about a billion years in itself. Well what about all of the other species? The timeline is all wrong. Dang I could go on forever.

Bottom line: You are not better than God.

it's not that narrow... even though you have a narrow minded view. More or less... you are saying that God is bad because he lets evil happen. Okay...
1) God does not "send" people to hell. They go to hell because of their own rejection of him NOT their actions.
2) He does not hide in "never-never-land" he came to earth and died for people's sins. Yes God, high above us went to a lowly status to save lowly mankind just so that they may have eternal life. And even after Jesus died and rose... God is still alive and working today. How do you explain miracles?? How do you explain societies completely transformed from evil to good (even an atheist cannot deny)? I have a friend who was an alcoholic, seeing way to many women way too often, addicted to numerous drugs.. And one day God came into his life and changed it. Within one week of him receiving Christ he was rid of all of those bad habits I listed. Even the best doctors and counselors can't do that. His life has been changing ever since, not just in the obvious ways. How do you explain a radical transformation like that if God is "hiding"?
3) Without suffering there would be no joy. And all things happen for a reason (good or bad) even if we do not see it all the time.
4) If we were perfect beings, we would be God. If we were God...why would he create us?? If we were perfect and had no faults...we would be robots, not having a choice to do right or wrong. Have you seen the movie "The Island" ... it's kinda like that. Without sin, we would not be able to really see the true pleasures in life, or have are own free will... we would be naive, oblivous, half- humans.

maybe you're better than what you perceive God is, but no...you are NOT better than God

You don't know what you would do. No one knows what they would in a certain situation until they're actually in it. Some of them surprise themselves, others shock themselves. Since you're not God, you can't say what you would do. Over the course of history, men with absolute power have done horrific things, just because they could. Saddam Hussein is a modern example.

1) Anyone who rejects God, rejects Heaven. They come as a matched set. You can't have one without the other. If God overlooked evil, He would not be a just God and could not judge us. He created us, He has the right to judge us. If God overlooked my sin (and yours), he would also have to overlook the sins of every dictator, tyrant, and terrorist. God treats everyone the same. These people are evil by human standards, and human standards are too low for God.

2) God doesn't hide out in Never-Never Land. He has given plenty of proof and evidence of His existence and His love for the human race. Mankind just prefers to cover their eyes and ears because they don't want to know.

3) Massive human atrocities occur because mankind is infected with sin. It's what the race does by nature. God doesn't intervene because mankind, on the whole, doesn't want Him interferring in their lives, so He doesn't. You can't tell Him to buzz off and then blame Him when He actually does. Natural disasters are only called "acts of God". They're actually "acts of Satan". The Bible makes it clear that Satan has been "a murderer since the beginning." Besides, if you've already made peace with your Maker, you don't need to be upset about dying. Satan's the one who wants to make sure you die before "getting around" to meeting God in this life. "A caring parent intervenes?" We are all God's creation, we are not all his children. God does indeed help His children. If you're not His child, He won't intervene for you.

4) Adam was created in God's own image. He was created to be as holy and perfect as God is. But Adam decided He didn't need God, His authority, or His instruction. He knew what he was doing when he ate that forbidden fruit. And everyone born after him has done the same thing. God could have destroyed the entire human race - Noah's family included. But by His grace, He spared that family and everyone after them who display the same kind of faith they had in God.

Some people think that believing in God is a crutch - they don't have to take responsibility for what they do because "it's the will of God". Baloney. Each and every one of us is responsible for everything we do and every word we speak. And God will hold us accountable.

There are a lot of atheists on Yahoo Answers.

I don't want to frighten you young and immature people, but I guarantee that most of you atheists will die as theists.

Right now, you are young and cocky and arrogant and in great health with no tragedies in your life, so you think you are above all this religious nonsense.

Well, life isn't always so rosy no matter how self-confident and arrogant you happen to be right now.

When your family and friends or perhaps your own children start dying; when you have a near-death experience from some horrid illness, you will suddenly discover why people inherently need some sort of faith.

In the meantime, carry on demonstrating your immaturity and ignorance and total intolerance of anyone different than yourselves.

The statements you gave here look like the promises from politicians when they were in election. But sweet heart to compare with anything or anyone to your self you need some qualification better than the person or the think have. Do you have any? Before that you or we should know the qualification of the god to compare with you. Only one qualification i know about GOD he or she don't bother about anything or anyone even who is trying to compare themselves to him or her. Isn't that a good mark of the god which you don't have. We have a old proverb in our language which says The Dog bark to the Moon But moon always light it up. Your research just like that.

1. There is no justice if a criminal determines his own punishment; either the victim or a fair judge must determine it, and both of those are God. If you think that Hell is an extremely harsh punishment, then you can have some idea of how bad sin is.

2. God has given us plenty of evidence of His existence, no matter how much some people choose to overlook or ignore it.

3. A caring parent allows his children a certain amount of freedom. You could wrap your children in bubble paper and leave them in a Nerf room, but it would be considered cruelty to forbid them freedom and a chance to learn from mistakes.

4. God created people perfect and with the ability to obey. Just because they chose not to do so doesn't mean that it was God's fault, nor does it mean that they did not deserve their punishment.

"Better than God?" I don't think so.

If you are better than God you won't be asking anymore that question because God is All-knowing or needs not our approval or confirmation. I think you can answer it by yourself. If your sure without doubt (which I think you have some because you are voicing doubt by asking us this question) then you can say it. Let put us this way why not being with God and living with Him by following Him...love others as you love yourself.

It's the third time you are thrying to start an argument wich is stupid because you believe in god or else you wouldn't be doing this!God created you and if you feel your life sucks then do what you have to just don't try to be better than God because you could never compare to his love and understanding. There is a reason why everything happens he has a plan although he didn't do it he let satan do it there is a reason and our (you and me) minds are to small to ever try and understand.

1) God is a just God, perfect and righteous, unlike imperfect man who allows his sin nature to rule his every thought and deed. In order for justice to be served for those who confess their sins and submit to God and all His authority, there has to be a punishment for those who choose their sin nature and deny Christ and all His authority. IN ORDER FOR THERE TO BE A REWARD THERE MUST ALSO EXIST A PUNISHMENT.

2) God does not hide His face from us. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and let me in, I will dine with him." It is man who IGNORES GOD'S PRESENCE, made evident in the very breath you breathe and the very rise and fall of the sun, in the very earth that hangs itself "upon nothing" and in all things good which come from above.

3) Man calls the calamity of sin entering into the world a "Natural Act of God," God does not call it that. God explains that we are suffering here on earth the consequences of our over indulgent sin nature, seeking to serve only our flesh instead of the God who created us.

Just as a parent sometimes sees fit to allow their child to suffer the consequences of their actions in order to learn from their mistakes, so too God allows us to suffer the consequences of our actions, even unto death and sorrow, that we might know just how sinful and stubborn we are, that we might one day fall to our knees and repent and He can scoop us up in His arms of love and care for us the way He always intended, since the beginning.

4) Then you would have created a world of robots that loved you simply because you programmed them to love you? No! God created us with FREE-WILL because He wanted us to have FREEDOM to choose Him or Deny Him, to LOVE HIM SINCERELY or HATE HIM WHOLE HEARTEDLY.

This is love, that Christ first loved us, while we were yet sinners, dying on the cross, that we might not have to suffer the consequences of our sins for all eternity.

Yes, God knew that some would hate him and that some would struggle with their sin nature as it entered in and slowly, century after century spread its decay around the world, but He also provided a way of escape from that sin consequence through CHRIST JESUS.

Simply put, "JESUS LOVES YOU EVEN THOUGH YOU HATE HIM."

PS. Satan thought he was better than God too.
