I got my girls their jewelry for the wedding, and black slippers (their dresses were black) for the reception.

Trust me, after spending all day on your feet, in heels, the slippers were a welcome gift!

Jewelry to wear at the wedding is traditional. I was a bridesmaid in two weddings last year and I got earrings for both weddings. You can get pretty things for fairly inexpensive, and if your bridesmaids all know you are on a budget, I'm sure they won't be expecting real pearls or anything like that.

I am personally a huge fan of candles. A lovely candle holder and some scented candles is always a hit, and you can do that fairly cheaply. Or what about treating all the girls to a manicure the day before the wedding? I don't know what your price range is, but that would be fun.

If you have an Art & Wine Festival anywhere near you soon (or Scottish Games or Renaissance Faire), you might want to go and check out the booths. There are AMAZING things at these shows, lots of unique stuff, and you can usually find some good deals.

Paying for the girls to have their hair/make up/nails done or something like that is common...I personally think that a simple letter to each girl would be a great idea..I have never been in a wedding other than my own but If i ever am I would much rather have something from the heart than a pricey gift....Another good idea are those bracelets that have the flat piece on top that you can have engraved...You could have each girls initials engraved on their bracelets...Those don't cost too much...

For my bridesmaids, I actually got them two seperate gifts. The first ones I presented to them at the bridal shower. I went to Things Remembered and bought them jewlery boxes with brass nameplates. I had their names and the date of the wedding engraved on each one. Because of the large quanity, they gave me a discount.
For the second, I waited until the rehersal dinner, and gave them all matching necklaces, bracelets, and earrings to wear on the day of the wedding. Once again, because of the large order, I got a discount. I ordered them from Avon, and they were on sale for 12 each.
My bridesmaids still talk about their presents because they were so special and personalized. BTW, I had 12 bridesmaids, so it got very expensive.
For the guys, I ordered some huge beer mugs and had them engraved with their names as well.

Good luck and congrats!!!!

I think traditionally you are supposed to give them jewlery to wear at the wedding. At least that is what I received for both weddings I was in. Honestly, you can just pick up something cute and cheap at Claire's get like earings and a necklace. They can wear at the day of the wedding and afterwards of course. Good luck, I'm going through the same thing, all the expenses and stuff are nuts. Congrats and good luck to you :)

My best friend is getting married a little less than a month after you.

She is getting us (the bridesmaids) our hair and make-up done before the wedding, jewerly to wear the day of, and we are all going out for manicures and pedicures the day before the wedding.

That's a few suggestions.

I am getting my girls- little tiaras to wear in their hair for that day.... and I am making them very nice jewerly 14K gold with crystals. I am figuring around $60 per bridesmaid gift and I am paying for their hair and makeup to be done. I am figuring they are spending so much on me with my shower and B party... I just want to give them something really nice they can wear again.
If your crafty you can make the jewerly yourself and save some money or look on ebay- lots of deals and people will give you better price if you buy a bulk- depending on how many bridemaids you have.

I went on ebay & ordered my bridesmaids a pearl necklace & earring set. They looked so good on them & they were cheap too! I think $5 a set. Just check around & you'll find some good deals. They even liked them so good they wore them after the wedding! Good luck with your wedding!!

My friend is getting married on the same day. What she did was bought them 5pc. samples of Liz Clairbone perfumes. She also bought them shoes to change in after the wedding and their jewelry. I think that she is the best soon to be bride that I know thus far. And he wedding budget hasn't even reached $5,000.00 and she has everything. Good luck.

I gave my bridesmaids a simple gold chain with a single pearl on it. I got a good deal on all six necklaces from the jeweler; only $29.99 for each.
