How could a parent let such a thing happen to their children? I watched a documentary last night on it and it was disgusting.

I too saw this show on Primetime Live..last night..
Though they were only addressing the Amish and the Children of God cults..it not only happens in the religious beliefs, but everywhere there is a dysfunctional home.. :(
It has to do with the heart, if we really Love our children, no matter what our beliefs are, we will keep them safe from all harm.. :)

Because there's no validation under the law for this practice, and they need a reason to make this deviant behavior seem acceptable. An excuse.
