no because the cold war was still on at the time that the movie was made. Showing him apologizining would not have been in keeping with the propaganda of the time which portrayed Russians as heartless communist robots.

WTF? you based all Russian people off one movie?! I have never met any Russia who act like Ivan! In fact in Russian, if you act all cocky and like you're above everyone else, you'll have a very tough social life.
