I'm always the skeptic. If they're asking for some of the money back, then you should just totally refund them 100% and don't send the iPod. Try to sell it again to someone who's not trying to screw you over!

I'm not an expert on scams, but as long as you receive payment for the Ipod before you ship it, then there is not a way for him to scam you. Do not give them any of the money back. if you arranged on a price and you received payment than he has no right to ask for money back, (unless there is a problem with the ipod that you hadn't mentioned before). If they paid with paypal then you have the money already, but if it was a money order be sure to check it out, and never accept checks from persons that you dont know either. People in Nigeria do buy things...so once you have your mopney be sure to ship it.

NO, don't give money back! How did they pay you? If it was a check it will take about 4 weeks (maybe less) for it to bounce and come back to your bank! If they used pay-pal and you have the money in your bank account now then ship the item (only if they paid for the shipping) but refuse to refund any money!
BE CAREFUL
but there are real people in Nigeria who like to listen to music

SCAM!!! Do not send them any money back, most likely the money order or whatever that they gave you is bogus.I've heard of this happening a few times on ebay.Don't even cash the money order they gave you and of course don't send the ipod.
To clarify, what they usually do is send you a money order for more than the item sold for and ask you to send the extra money back.It will take the bank a while to realize the money order is a fake. Now you not only owe the bank the money back for the fake money order, you also lost the extra money you sent back to them along with your item.Take the money order to the bank and have them investigate and report it to ebay,if that is where you sold it.This scam happened to someone in my area, she lost alot of money.

I agree with what most people are saying here. Give the money order to the bank, tell them you believe it is fake and NOT to cash it. Do not send the iPod anywhere. Notify eBay. Inform your buyer that you do not ship internationally and that you have destroyed their money order. I swear there are so many scams out of Nigeria, they must think we are all stupid.

Did you specify where you where shipping the Item: nationwide or within the United States and the cost of the item plus S/H on your item description. If this person is following your direction then you will have to proceed with the transaction ;otherwise you would have to cancel the transaction and refund this person for any payment he/ she had made.

Notify her (the buyer in Nigeria) that you are going to ship the ipod as soon as you are sure that their payment has cleared.
Wait 3 weeks (that should be enough time) and make sure payment has cleared. Then, ship the ipod to Nigeria. That was the bargain, wasn't it?

on eBay? No someone's bid on eBay is a binding contract. If he paid for it then ship it where he wants it unless it is more money to ship where he wants it. If that is the case then you can request more money for shipping. If you can't get it resolved I'd talk to eBay and see what they next step is. You can always refund all the money but the price of the auction so you are not out that money.

If I were you, I'd get paid the full amount of the winning bid (if auction), and then I'd ship the item to the address that is supplied to you. A deal is a deal, and non-negotiable, especially if it's not a personal, face-to-face transaction.
