If you're legal I can't see any reason why you would be insulted.... unless of course you are currently on benefits then you'd probably get some then.

Try joining a job agency (there's plenty about) and utilise your existing skills to develop yourself further. There's also lots of free courses around to help.

If you are claiming that you didnt come there to get a menial job, then you should re-think what are your qualifications/education for getting a better job are. If you dont have any qualifications, then you will be stuck cleaning toilets and complaining. Get out there and go to school, learn and get yourself a decent job. Its not going to be easy, but its a start. Even the people who pick up garbage....garbage collectors...get paid a very good salary. So plz, get out there and keep on trying instead of getting insulted by these people!!!!

they'll insult you

my wife is afraid that when we move to the u.s. they'll insult her too... I don't know what to say, because she might be right, except that the people who insult her are obviously stupid

not like being a U.S. citizen in a foreign nation... only the smart people tend to be prejudiced against me, because they have more reason to... although if you get to know me, I'm not a fascist, but it's true that a lot of tourists are part of the system keeping these countries down... wealthy, business types. and then they come here to Buenos Aires to buy cheap clothes made by Bolivian immigrants that the Argentinos discriminate against. It's a sad world.

You didn't ask a question, you simply made a statement. You're informing us that you don't intend to do menial work in the US, but you failed to inform anyone of your qualifications for better paying jobs.
If you're asking for advice in finding a higher paying job, you're not going to get it without first listing your past experiences, education , age, special training, and anything else that you can include.

If you had a "viable bonafide education" maybe you'd be designing Hi-Tech toilets instead of cleaning them... You obviously can't read or write well so maybe you should get your toilet brush and go to work, Mr . Bubbles!

Lavatory work is o.k. you seem qualified what with Harvard under your belt!

Did you say you were Muslim? If so, well the answer should be clear, Islam is not that popular any more, so jobs may even be more scarce if you are!

People are very jittery about, Muslims, Burkas and Bombs... I often wonder why?

No I wont, but all of the ones that come here to do so called menial jobs, will become savvy, and they wont want to stay in those jobs. Then you get social strife. It is the governments fault for being so damn left wing, liberal, PC, call it what you will.

we get a lot of refugees over here, so don't take it personally if you get lumped in the same pigeon hole.
I have a freind who was 6th in the list to get government housing, due to immigration and refugees 6 months down the line he's now 329th. We pay alot of taxes for this, can you see why some people may be bitter?!

Do you have any education? If not, guess what?? To work here in the US you WILL be doing menial work. If you don't like it, go back where you come from. We won't lose any sleep, trust me!

It's easy, get back home and stop complaining... Or do you want us to let our jobs to give them to you??

PS. I'm from Spain, and live in Spain, I suppose you refer to US, but it's the same in all places; Babe, if you don't like what we have, go to another place where everybody has a job and earn a lot of money, or better, a place where everybody is rich and doesn't need to work...
