Which government? UK or US?

The U.S. will take As Long As Possible to address the issue, for two reasons. One, it is too controversial. Second and most important, they don't want it to be resolved. They want as many illegal immigrants as possible in the U.S. Making them legal OR deporting them would mess up the plan. They are there to help out big business by providing cheap labor... if they had the same rights as citizens, they would be useless to the politicians' friends and sponsors, and the absolutely devastated economic system would be exposed for what it is... a patchwork of horrible inflation covered up by cheap/slave labor in the U.S. and abroad to provide insane corporate profits, low wages for everyone, and low prices on cheap plastic products in all the stores.

It is NOT going to offer an Amnesty!!! The UK will not implement an amnesty program for illegal immigrants, Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said , and will instead seek "fair but tough" enforcement of current rules. Byrne's comments came at the conclusion of an official review of the Immigration and Nationality Directorate, the UK office charged with controlling the country's borders, which was ordered by UK Home Secretary John Reid after it came to light earlier this year that more than 1000 foreign criminal were released without being considered for deportation. The deportation debacle cost Reid's predecessor, Charles Clarke, his job in the cabinet of Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Byrne had previously raised the possibility of amnesty for illegal immigrants currently in the UK, a proposal opposed by most UK citizens according to a recent poll. Common sense prevails!!!!

I am so tired of people saying it's racist to want to get rid of people who are in this country illegally.
Immigration has to be controlled. we are a small island with a limited amount of resources - we have a good welfare state, NHS and council housing. They cannot sustain a prolonged assault by illegal immigrants.
I am not against immigration per se, but I am against any amnesty for **illegal** immigrants. it sends completely the wrong signals to the rest of the world

I don't think their should be an amnesty, as it will only encourage more illegal immigrants to this overcrowded country.

If anything the government should encourage the indigenous population to have more children, to stop the asset stripping of people from poorer countries.

When hell freezes over as far as I am comcerned! Illegals are criminals and if we let that go then we should open all the prison doors and give amnesty there too. Why bother punishing anyone for breaking the law?

Aleksandr is totally correct ... nobody really wants amnesty, neither the politicians, nor business ... so illegals will have to soldier on as a disposable source of cheap labor ... until they're deported ... sorry ....

No because if they offer an amnesty who will then be blamed for governments failure,On the 21 st century people are being treated like slaves..and where ? UK where we believe that people can leave in freedom. Why do you accept them in then? Why do you keep them waiting for years without status? This is dishonest and unacceptable......

i dont see why an amnesty should be offered, the illegal immigrants shouldn't be here to begin with. they should be rounded up and deported. why does everyone see fit to take over our country, but are up in arms when we go into theirs??!!
