In 1995, after a series of secretive meetings, Jerry Falwell, a hypocritical member of the christian right, accepted a 3.5 million dollar donation from the Rev. Sun Myung Moon. This donation was gladly accepted to "save" Liberty University.

Here is one of MANY net links describing this very donation and their relationship. A pic is included-

Rev Moon, is the head of the moonie church. He believes he is the reincarnated Jesus Christ, claims Jesus failed because he didn't procreate, is a sexual pervert, believes America is the reaping of satan's harvest, and supports the Republican party. He is a major global arms dealer! HE ALSO CLAIMS HE IS THE MESSIAH!

Don't you think it's hypocritical for Jerry Falwell to accepted a donation from Rev Moon- a false preacher? OR is it just another example of how low some right wing televangelists will go to get their hands on more precious money?

Yes, it's very, very hypocritical. I imagine these days Falwell is talking all about false prophets and the End Times, and yet he goes and accepts donations from the very kind of person he tells Christians to avoid following. He's your typical televangelist. Most of them live luxurious lifestyles and have lots of money and rarely donate to charity, in complete disregard for Jesus' actual sayings, such as "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven."

Falwell is a hateful old coot and a scam artist, he is NOT a christian. He'll espouse good ol' christian values when it suits his best interests, other issues he may bend a little or do some creative interpretation to back his cause. When Katrina hit, his kneejerk response is "the gays and pagans caused it" (wha? The vengeful god is SOOOooo O.T., buddy) rather than "it is our duty to help our brothers and sisters who've lost their homes and families whether they so happen to be gays or pagans"

He's full of crap, but I do hope that he's right about his fire and brimstone creator, because he'll be the first to fry in that case.

on the political front I asked or responded a query with reference to the ethical majority of which he became the top some years in the past. I suggested they scare me while you evaluate that they had 60% of the vote and the place's the separation of church and state whilst the pastor can ask you to vote for ....whoever the ethical majority tells them. i does not placed something previous that guy! in keeping with risk he's the antichrist! (basically kidding)

lemme get this straight ... you are talking about a mistake they may have made 12 years ago...?

if they did I agree its a mistake but to be honest one mistake does not characterize a person

I dont think its right to portray Jerry Falweelll as hypocritical with no specifics

Sun Mung Moon is a leader of a gospel opposing cult and if Liberty accepted a donation from them it would certainly be unwise... in my opinion wrong to do it

but a person is not characterized by their wrost mistake
