It says "Switch to night colours when dark" and its got a tick in the box but it never does. It also never dims, i dont think it even has an auto dimmer although it says in the manual it has a light sensor. Has anyone been driving at night and had it switch to night mode on its own?

Yes my colours are different. Would it work if you had a signal indoors and just put it in a dark cupboard or do you need to be moving in the car? I've tried it both ways and still not working!

To turn on auto switching go to brightness preferences in the prefernces menu. If you cant see that you need to choose "show more options" in the preferences menu then more options appear

I just tried my 4 week old 710, the night and day screens are set for different colours and the boxes are checked but it doesn't change in the dark! I covered the light sensor on the top right of the case and it makes no difference. Looks like we have to contact TomTom. In the menu under 'preferences' it says USE NIGHTCOLOURS and USE DAY COLOURS, if you choose either of these it stays with that choice, so how to you choose 'Automatic' switchover?
