Some people think that DNA is the secret of life. It may be the biological secret that was unravelled more than 50 years ago but DNA is not everything. Similarly some theroetical physicists seem to think that the secret of the universe lies in the essentail structure of matter at its most fundamental level: particle physics and beyond. God --if you believe in God--cannot be reduced either to DNA or particles. The Greek philosophers thought that philosophy had three aspects: understanding the physical world, logic or methods of reasoning, and morality. In my understanding, God has more to do with morality, of which how we treat others is an important part, than with the nature of either the physical or biological world, though knowing some of the basic ideas of physics and biology can enable us to take an informed view of the world we live in and of the God who presides over it--if indeed He/She does.
