I don't like roses either, they stink. Nothing compares to the deliate beauty of them, but I'm not a fan. I prefer daisies.

Sorry I agree with your girlfriend Roses are way Over-done...

Your best bet is try to be creative try a bouquet out of her favorite color or even better and believe me this would rack up major brownie points go onto a language of flowers site and research exactly what flowers represent what you are trying to say again try to be creative and playful...all that extra work will really show her how much you care and how committed you are!!! Good luck!!

I don't particualrly care for roses either. I like a bouquet of wild flowers. Carnations with baby's breathe are pretty. Tulips or daisies are nice. Groups of three of the larger flowers like lilys or gladiolas are nice yet elegant. Whatever flower is currently in season is always appropriate and thoughtful.

Personally I feel flowers are over-rated as well. If my husband wanted to surprise me he could get me something with a dragonfly on it, or baby animals. Go with what she likes. Also affection does not have to be shown with only materialistic items either.

Another suggestion, if she likes the theatre, museum, gallery, or something to that effect, get some tickets to a show she has wanted to see for a while.

If she likes flowers in general, but not particularly roses, find out what her favorites are. Mine is the Lilac, but they are only out a couple of weeks out of the year.

I don't like roses either! They're expensive and die right away. However, a nice bouquet with flowers in her favorite color or colors presented to her out of the blue says just as much as roses any day.

Any man worth anything will know the answer to this...not just girls!

Each flower has a meaning. There are tons of flowers that can mean love. (Different colors mean different things. Yellow roses stand for loyalty.)

Ask a florist for blue Camellia's. It means: "You're a flame in my heart "

Try a tulip. Anywhere outside Turkey or Holland they're considered stylish alternatives. the best bit is, like roses, if you buy a single flower it looks all the better. And neither look cheap.

I think flowers are the biggest waste of money going - give it 4 days and they're dead!!! I always tell boyfriends to go for something lasting - a nice piece of jewellery/ a romantic night out - or in!!! You'll end up spending about the same on these gifts - but she'll have way more enjoyment out of them

what is her favorite flower? What is her favorite color? Go off of that. Does she like things that smell sweet? A lily is sweet and to the point. They are gorgeous. Like she said, a rose is over rated...

Just go to the florist and have him make up a bouquet of mixed
flowers. I often get a large bouquet of mixed flowers and they are
so beautiful with all of the different types of flowers made into
an arrangement.
