Inexperienced people should absolutely NEVER attempt an inbreeding. You need to have a thorough knowledge of both dogs' pedigrees going back at least 3 generations. And I mean you have to know all the faults, including recessive ones in that line because if you do an inbreeding you're going to get them!

If you're going to breed, the dogs being bred have to complement each other - if you breed two dogs who don't have the best temperaments, for example, you're going to get puppies who have bad temperaments. You need to do some research and learn about genetics before you breed.

Sorry yet this complete AKC has ruined breeds is thoroughly ludicrous. not like the KC in England, the AKC does not Have rights to the breed criteria. meaning the AKC has not something to do with the criteria, they're only a registry. Its the nationwide breed club that instruments the criteria. So if something its the nationwide breed club supposedly ruining breeds. yet no i don't believe of both the AKC nor the breed golf equipment have ruin breeds, they're there to maintain the breeds, and improve the position mandatory. Its BYB and puppy millers which have ruin breeds. As others have stated, nowhere and surely nowhere does it say contained in the conventional of the GSD that they ought to have that exaggeratedness. Its what the breeders have interpreted and what wins. yet i am going to for particular allow you to realize that what's being shown in England is a ways worse than what's being shown in u . s . of america a minimum of for the GSD. Its gotten so undesirable that the KC has threatened and probably will end all CC's for 2012 for GSDs, meaning no dogs for the duration of that year and years after turns into champions. it is till eventually they fix the topics of double handling and touching hocks and undesirable fronts.

I would avoid any "family" at all costs. I have a boston terrier (2) and I'm picking up another one next week from the same breeder. I've considered breeding them, but I asked to see the AKC papers on the parents and the register of the litter to be 100% sure my dogs aren't related. Please make sure your dogs aren't in the same family- it doesn't work with people so I would be wary of the results in dogs. Also, if you plan on selling the pups, buyers might not like that the dogs were related and you might have a hard time selling them.

Best is to refrain from breeding immediate relatives. Find a stud as far removed from your animal's line as possible - assuming yours is a bi*ch ready to breed, of course. Inbreeding of the kind you mention increases the liklihood of unwanted - and incurable - traits and disabilities. Don't do that to the critter if you have any compassion for animals. And in some municipalities, if you misrepresented the case when trying to sell off pups, you could be criminally prosecuted as well as subject to a civil lawsuit.

Unless you know what you are doing, have a good basic knowledge of genetics and inherited diseases in your breed, and know the genetic background of your dog's family tree, it's best to stick to totally unrelated dogs.

I would check with the AKC. They would be the best place to go for the answer you want or need to know.

never! NEVER! breed dogs that are related! they become geneticaly disfunctional and have alot of problems! inbreeding causes them to become deformed in ways...ex a wide variety of physical and health defects. Any given inbred animal generally has several, but not all, of these defects. heres the sight look it up!
