Ok here is the deal, I just got this temp job during the summer which was supposed to run for about 7-8 weeks. Ok the summer is done, but I was offered a permanent positon about 4 weeks into it. I said sure b/c it seemed like the only option for money at the time. But recently my manager is becoming really nasty, and "supposedly I have been losing money" and coming up short. I have no way to explain why? Simply because I really have no idea how the money disappears, I count and double count money that I give to customers, yet I have been short everyday this week. Not only that, my shortcomings have been announced to the ENTIRE office. So I feel uncomfortable and I just dont feel like staying there, plus the pay sucks! Anything that I should say? OR how should I go about it b/c my temp term is almost done?

PLEASE makes sure you have a back up plan for a job to replace this one.

To quit you can say "I'm giving my two weeks notice because I have another opportunity that I need to take."

Keep it simple, direct and to the point. It keeps it professional and this way it's not personal.

I don't think it really matter, it sounds like someone there is likely out to get you fired and altering your counts to make you always come up short.

I worked with money for a long time, and I was not the best for double-counting, but one thing I found is that I was over at least once in a while. If you always under something is wrong and its unlikely that its you.

Long story but you boss likely doesn't look at any other possibility other then its all your fault. With that being said your not getting much of a good reference.

Best way to get out of a job is explain for personal reasons that you must quit and they should not force you to explain as they can't. Just give 2 weeks notice, and explain that you don't mind training a replacement. This at least makes it look like you care and should help make a good leaving impression.

If you just quit and walk out, you definetely won't be able to use this job as a reference. The money issue seems a little fishy to me. How about you count your cash WITH your supervisor, maybe YOU aren't the one coming up short. That exact senerio has happened before in places I've worked. Just make sure to cover your butt about the money issue because that can quite seriously affect your bondability for future jobs. Bottom line is if you are not happy at your job, it affects you and everyone around you. It sucks waking up in the morning and knowing that you have to go work somewhere that makes you uncomfortable. Why don't you look for another job right now while you're still working there and that would be a good way to get out of a bad situation. Besides employers are more likely to hire someone who is already working than someone who's not.

I would talk to your managers boss about the way your manager handles the situation. He should not discuss it in front of all the employees. Secondly you should be around when your money gets counted, maybe you aren't short but whoever counts the cash is taking a little off of the top. But if you want to quit, put in your two weeks notice, tell them a bigger and better opportunity has surfaced and you want to pursue that. Continue working for the next couple of weeks and then go on your way.

I think before you do anything rashional you should speak to your boss in private and tell what the story is especially if our short on the money side. Because if you leave or resign then the other employees and your boss will think something suss is going on and you could even be blamed for you stealing the money. I best if you deal with the situation in a professional manner and hand in your resignation at the time as well if you hate the job.

I think you'd be doing everyone (including yourself) a favor by simply bowing out of this job. I'd go to the supervisor and straight up tell them, "I sincerely apologize but I just don't understand why I've been so terrible at this job"..."I think I need to resign"..."I totally appreciate you putting up with me this long"'

If you bow out gracefully, accepting full and total resposibility for your mistakes, chances are you'll be better off. We're all human and make mistakes. Unfortunately, taking that job in the 1st place was a mistake for you.

I would just talk to your boss and tell him that you have changed your mind, that you will be leaving after your temp term is done. You could write a letter of resignation and just hand it to him. People quit every day, they will be able to replace you, so don't feel bad. If they had to lay you off, they would do it in a heartbeat. Look out for yourself and do what is right for you.

sounds to me like your boss is placing you as a lot as take the fall for something worse contained in the destiny. do not you've the skill to artwork elsewhere?? there is jobs everywhere. prepare elsewhere and be particular that when you're offered a sparkling interest that you thanks boss for the probability to artwork there, yet that it really is time that you'll flow on. grant a 2 week observe, yet ask to leave once available. each little thing will be large and your boss will in no way understand what hit him.

Give them a week or two notice that you are leaving. Be polite. No sense burning bridges. You may need them for a reference some day and want them to give you a good one.

Well you certainly can't stay with a job that is uncomfortable & stressfull. You aren't required to give a reason why you are leaving, just say "It's time for me to move on" or something like that.
