I have a cold too! Eat some chicken noodle soup as there are chemicals in it that fight cold viruses, and try some "Zicam" - it might make the symptoms less severe. Also, take extra vitamin C, but above all else, REST - its the only real way to get rid of a cold. I plan on going there shortly myself! Also, take some orange juice, or eat some oranges.

What do you have in the house? Chicken soup (or broth) is an excellent start. Drink lots of liquid: Fresh (or frozen orange juice). Mix up honey and lemon, heat it, and sip or gargle for your throat. (Might add a bit of brandy). There's so much more but mostly it involves herbs, and you'd have to run to the store. OTC drugs - Motrin for aches and pains - Decongestant or benadryl to dry you up. Just curl up on the couch with your blanket, sip some tea, read a good book, and get well.

Drink a hot cup of soup or take a warm bath and then get some rest. Give your body a chance to catch up. Drink plenty of orange juice and take vitamins.
You could also watch some of your favorite movies.

Drink lots of fresh orange juice (not from concentrate), have a steam inhalation with some olbas oil/menthol/vicks type stuff in it. Towel over head scenario over a bowl or pot and big deep breaths in through the nose. Big bowl of veggie soup. A right good sleep. Drink lots of water. A couple of paracetamol to dry up your nose if you need it. Friends re-runs or a good movie under a blanket.

Get a large fresh lemon. Cut it in half (save the other half). Squeeze it. Spoon the juice down the back of your mouth, down your throat. Follow it by a few sips of water, to clear the taste.
Wrap yourself up very warmly (including 2 pairs of socks) and take yourself and a book to bed. Try to sweat.
Drink plenty of fluids (water preferred) and eat healthy (low fat meat, low sugar carbohydrate, good fat) meals 3 times a day.

Get a product called Airborne.

I took this stuff when I was in the middle of a nasty stomach virus and within a day, I was completely back to normal. This stuff was developed by teachers and works to bolster your immune system.
You can find it at most pharmacies.
