I am not in anyway trying to insult Homosexuals, even though Islam highly prohibits Homosexuality. Below, you will see how both the Homosexuals and Pigs' cases are linked together in the Bible.
I was surprised to learn that most of the Christians that I encountered on the internet have no problem with homosexuality and don't think that there is anything wrong with it in the Bible. Their main point is that homosexuality was never addressed in the New Testament, thus practicing it is a matter of a choice.
Some even go into extremes by saying that Jesus never got married and Paul discouraged men to marry women; "Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry. (From the NIV Bible, 1 Corinthians 7:1)" To them, since this is the case, then men marrying men should not be prohibited in the New Testament and Christianity.
Even though the Old Testament never addressed Lesbianism, but several Christians that I met in person oppose to Homosexuality because to them it is prohibited in the OT; "'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 20:13)"
As I said, the OT never addressed Lesbianism, and the Pro-Homosexuality Christians of www.godlovesfags.com elaborated on this point. We even see many Verses in the OT where men and women are separated in laws and punishments. Take this example:
"IF A MAN has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 20:15)"
"IF A WOMAN approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 20:16)"
Notice in the above two verses that the man has to get caught having sex with an animal in order for him to be put to death, while the woman does not necessarily have to get caught having sex with an animal. If she only looks suspicious then she would still be put to death, while the man has to be caught doing it. Anyway, to many Christians, Lesbianism is ok since it was never addressed anywhere in the Bible.
But as to those folks who do oppose to Homosexuality in the Bible and rely on Leviticus 20:13 as the Anti-Homosexuality Christians of www.godhatesfags.com to support their argument, I have this question for them:
Since you use the Old Testament to prohibit Homosexuality which was never addressed in the New Testament, then how about prohibiting the eating of Pig's meat products such as ham, bacon, pork chops, etc...?
The Old Testament clearly says "And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. (From the NIV Bible, Leviticus 11:7-8)".
So, if you're going to prohibit Homosexuality from your Christian perspective, then there goes also your Easter and Christmas Ham and Bacon, and Barbecue Pork Chops. Otherwise, you're a selective hypocrite!

For christains, it's a question, but if you're interested here's the Jewish perspective.
1) 2 Women is a prohibition introduced by the Rabbis of the Talmud
2) Eating pig is punished by whipping, homosexuality by death.
3) Only Jews are commanded in pig, but even non-Jews are commanded against homosexuality (Genisis 2:24, A man should marry a woman, to the exclusion of a man)

You don't read the bible much, do you, because there are numerous references to homosexuality in the New Testament. Just read the first book of Romans and you'll see that both male and female homosexuality are addressed, and that "those who practice such things are worthy of death." I'm not ripping homosexuals here, but you said it's not in the NT and you were wrong. I gave you one reference. Read the whole NT and you will assuredly find more..
BUT, I believe homosexuality is a sin no worse than any other, and would never say all homosexuals are going to hell cause I
don't believe it. Again, who is without sin? No one. If you ask for forgiveness, I do believe you will receive it, irrespective of the nature of the sin - execpt for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit - but to me that means rejecting the gift of forgiveness, so any sin will be forgiven men, if they just have the humility to ask.

Homosexuality is prohibited by the Old Testament AND the New Testament. See Leviticus. Then see Paul's letter to the Romans.
Eating pigs and such is prohibited by the Old Testament only.

Big explanation to make a point that Christians who are not ready to hear, will not hear.
Until people who rest on Jesus for the answers to their existence are ready to read His words for themselves...(the RED print in the bible) and let His message prevail and determine the validity of any and all other messages, this problem of interpretation will continue to keep lots of seminarians in the job market.
Christians who are able to take this leap of faith will find that the powerful transcending Love they hold true will still be there if they choose to question what religion is teaching & look for answers within themselves.
If not ready, they will be judged by what they do with what they understand...same as you...same as me.
Peace to you.

Homosexuals and Lesbians are not allowed. This is clearly outlined in Romans 1. However, the eating of "non Kosher" foods, is allowed now because we have the holy spirit to clense our bodies. The Hebrew were not allowed to eat such things to allow thierselves to become holy in the eyes of God. No matter how hard we try to become holy, we are still covered in sin. Therefore Christ came to clense our sin away through his sacrifice and through the holy spirit.
On a side note, I Love Pork Barbeque Chops!!!

Homosexuality is EXPLICITLY ADDRESSED in the New Testament.
1Co 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 Some of you used to do those things. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Leviticus is no longer in effect.
Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Galatians 2:16 We know that no one is made right with God by obeying the law. It is by believing in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in Christ Jesus. That is so we can be made right with God by believing in Christ, not by obeying the law. No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
Galatians 2:21 I do not get rid of the grace of God. What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace.

1 Corinthians 6:8-10 (New International Version)
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
eating pigs ok...all food is declared clean by Jesus...this cosummated the OT law...
Mark 7
14Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' "[f]
17After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18"Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? 19For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")
20He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' 21For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "

Romans 1:25-27 (New International Version)
25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

The Bible absolutely prohibits homosexuality in both the Old and New Testaments. I have a problem with homosexuality, the main problem being it's being portrayed as normal. Somewhat common, maybe, but sin is as common as anything, since we are all born sinners. The thing is, we are to love them, not hate them, just hate the sin, just as we are to hate any sin we commit.
As far as eating pigs goes, read Acts 10 for starters, then Galatians.
