Find the one who has the best deal. If one offers eternal life + 2 weeks, that is a better deal than just eternal life. According to Billy Graham, there is no sex in Heaven, so Islamic Paradise becomes a better deal. Just make a list of pros and cons and then commit your brain to being mush for the one that gives you the most stuff.

Why do you have to pick a god? Are you that weak minded that you need to follow some fallacy? Take responsibility for your own life and stop looking to things that really don't exist. That way, you won't become brainwashed yourself.

Millions and millions. Even taking Hinduism out of the picture, you're probably still looking at a pretty darn huge number.
Find out about them and pick for yourself.

I thought you might find this site interesting. It has lists and descriptions of many deities.
http://www.godchecker.com/
Also, you could start by studying the mythology of the culture that draws you to it the most. I definitely agree that ones deity/ies choose us rather than us doing the choosing.
Good luck with your journey!

You're a mere mortal (puny human, filllthy earth creature), what hope have you to count the number of deities in your sky? Do you presume to know the unknowable? Are you foolish enough to believe you can seek out a god that will do YOUR bidding? YOU do not choose your god, my friend... your god chooses YOU!
Aaaaa-hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaah!

The answer: the consistency in this universe points to only one God. More than one God, they would have a power struggle and we would find many inconsistencies all over the universe. But WHICH religion represents God better? That's up to you.

Look to yourself. What speaks to you in your heart? God reaches us all in our own ways.
Blessings on your Path!

just worship the one that created you and seek out who that is. Just be sure you don't worship anything created by the one who created; that's just ridiculous and illogical :) take care
