Have you tried Ice?
Sometimes a kid having an ice pack makes them feel "special" so when my kids got bumps and bruises we always had to go get the Strong Medicine - ICE PACKS!
They would feel like they were fixing the problem and getting the best medicine out there.
Good luck......

Try and put arenica creame on it you can get it from the chemist. Also try a pad of gauze soaked in witch hazel, both are excellent for reducing swelling and bringing out the bruising. Another method but it may be hard for you to get him to do it. Is by immersing his ankle first in cold water then hotter water (not too hot mind). Do this repeatedly five times each in a row if possible.
Try and make it a fun thing to do and you will both find it a lot easier to handle..
I do hope that he is in less pain soon and that his tumble will not put him off from going on his bike again.
This happened to my Grandson last year and he will not go back on his bike. We don't force him but it is a shame for him

for confident ... if the daddy is lifeless the son has each and every of the right to inherit from his grandfather with one decrease if that grandfather has different sons in worry-free words then grandsons won't be able to inherit ... and if that grandfather refuses that's only a similar as a father refusing to furnish his personal son inheritance ... in Islam there is something stated as A'sab meaning the bond between kinfolk contributors is seen as a chain if a a center ring is lacking (the daddy) and there aren't the different earrings interior a similar aspect ( father's brothers) then the earlier and after earrings (grandfather and grandson) are appropriate mutually .... I searched many Arabic fatwas and that all of them agree on that with huge difference of the state of grandmother it really is an prolonged concern to be pronounced the following ...

Maybe you could wrap it with an ace bandage and put ice on it. A bruise in the foot is painful try to keep him off of it but don't cater to him too much. My mom used to do that when my Oldest was still the only grandchild and she would baby him something awful and claim that I wasn't doing enough to ease his pain. That boy is 18 now and he is the biggest baby I know all because my mom would always give in to him

It's an old-school remedy, but honestly, I swear by it. My mother in law got me to use a pot full of the hottest water i could stand on my ankle, added some Epson Salt to it, generously, and it took alot of the swelling and pain out of my foot. The trick is to keep adding hot water every time it starts getting chilled. (Not too hot, of course)... then after I soaked it, I put an ice pack in a towel and kept it on my ankle while I slept.. STILL haven't been to the doctor...try it.. honestly, IT WORKS!!

He needs to stay off his foot when possible. Ice packs are good to reduce swelling. It will take time. Re-injuring happens. He needs to have a wrap or brace when he starts running and playing. My granddaughter wore a brace (given to her by a doctor) for 6 months when she was doing sports. It's all well now. Motrin (children's) seems to be best for such an injury .

Ice it down (15 minutes on, 15 off) for a few hours, see if it still hurts. If it still hurts after a week, take him back to the ER. As for pain meds, Children's Motrin. And for God's sake, grind the pill up into a food he likes. Kids are like dogs in that regard. They won't take the meds, so you have to sneak it into them.

you could try giving him childrens motrin for pain and it will help take the inflamation away so the pain isnt so bad. you could also try cool baths if he doesnt like for you to ice it. if your really worried you could get a second opinion doctors arent always right. i thought i broke my toes a week ago they were all different colors and swollen, it really does hurt so i feel for this little guy. if all else fails give him a big hug, grandmas hugs always makes it better!!! good luck.

make sure he keeps it elevated and try to get him to hold still long enough to keep an ice pack on it for at least a little while. Give him some comfort foods at let him rent a movie or something so he'll keep off of it for a while.
