Serve. Just like any other kind of leader. But sometimes to serve you must rule. This does not mean to act like a despotic warlord, but to act for the good of most of your people, to act in their interests even if some of them can't see that you are, and to provide a stable environment for your people. For religious leaders it is also important that they are a role model for society, as preachers of peace, tolerance and understanding.

Not sure what you are getting at.... but am suspicious......

Serve is the answer but does a king not serve, is that not a life of sacrifice..... Thats not to say religious leaders are kings but the bible says, 'Spiritual Leaders are Responsible For Your Soul'.

Careful in your judgement, if your leaders make you suspicious be careful... listen and share, talk ad reason, even God invites us to 'Come Let Us Reason Together' I'm sure..... He declares he has heart, he is good... and he is.

It's a big responsibility, someones soul, be cool.

The basic misconception here is the word "leader". Just because they are at the helm, they forget their sworn objective to serve the people - and this goes out not just to church leaders but to anyone who holds a position that is there to serve other people. They should serve the people who follow them.

they cannot rule , the world is in a total s-h-i-t because of them. We start to hate insted of make lov because of them. We were devided because of them.
If they start politics , it's the worst thing what we can except in feature.
Leaders need heads, or votes . This will led the religious leaders to promote their beliefs.
Just think of that.
They cannot serve people. Just keep them only to use in a fenuarls and weddings.

They should serve their people in the realm of religion and let the politicians do the ruling thing. Religious fundamentalism ravaging the world today is largelythe result of bringing religion into rulership.

Good question, the bible tells us to be a servant for the Lord. Leaders should serve, but there are leadership responsibilities also, that would include being the boss and telling people what to do, unless you relegate that responsibility to someone else.

If you take the word "rule" to mean govern or exercise authority over then it would be better if they served and guided rather than ruled.

They should serve, and offer guidance to people.

Unfortunatly, some multimillionaire televangelists, use people for building personal wealth. And do not live as bondservants of Christ.

Most religous leaders, not matter their faith, do a good job!

A leader is there to lead! A leader does well to lead by example, modelling the truths of their faith and the ideal relationship with their god(s).
