I have known 2 people that got pregnant on the pill. You can use a condom or pull out. Just be really careful.

They say that if you want to be really sure that pregnancy won't occur that you should use a condom along with birth control. However, I'm on the pill and I don't use condoms when I'm seriously involved with someone and know they won't give me a disease. I've never gotten pregnant, so I think it's pretty safe to just use the pill. You should continue using a condom when she starts taking the pill for a month or so, until her body gets set on the cycle. The doctor should inform her of how long that will really take, I don't really have an idea. And you should both be tested for HIV and other STDs just be sure, unless there's no possible way you could have any (you lost your virginity to each other, have never had blood transfusions or shared needles, etc.)

All I ever took was the pill and did not use a condom as a back up. It has worked for 7 years.

During the transition you should use a condom. It takes at least 1 cycle(30 days) of being on the pill for it to be in effect.
You should both be tested for HIV and other STDs just be sure, unless there's no possible way you could have any (you lost your virginity to each other, have never had blood transfusions or shared needles, etc.)

Pill is for pregnancy only, and condom will help prevent pregnancy as well as STD's

do you know everyone she has slept with? If you dont use a condom you could catch more than a warm peice of bootie. you young people don't understand the importance of keeping yourself safe.there are all kinds of stds out there., and most people don't even know they are infected.
