Sometimes humor needs to be more obvious. A string of non-sequitors often has our brain working so hard to find the commonality, that the humor of the situation is lost. Some people can quickly grasp the relationship between seemingly non-related events. Some people can connect the dots quickly, some need more time to see the picture, by then the humor is lost.

Now, if while you were yelling at the white house and about 5 secret service agents ran out and tackled you and stuck your sign up your a** I would probably be ROFL for a couple hours.
