Sorry to sound racist, but black people are horrendous drivers! I don't know whether it's a risk taking thing or just lack of awareness, but they are too aggressive on the road. I've lived all over, and I've seen black people (I..see...black...people!) just totally disregard the rules of the road. This usually includes endangering others, cutting people off at an intersection, etc.
On the flip side, probably the most dangerous people you will ever see on the road are the white senior citizens! It sucks that most of the politicians in congress won't take on that issue because of the fact that older people still vote.

I'm glad that you said culture and not race because there is a difference. Anyhow to answer your question, I don't believe cultures drive different from one another. We may have more or less distractions than others. In America most people are messing with their radios or ipods and talking on the phone while driving. This is distracting and can cause accidents. I'm just as guilty. I almost hit someone in the rear end because I was looking down at my phone trying to dial a number. (Some citys are makeing it illegal to talk on the phone while driving.)

I see alot of aggressive drivers in America and sometimes I see polite drivers who will let you pull out of the parking onto the busy street. America has many different cultures within it and I believe the driving skills of a person is an individual thing not a culture.

I have never been to a different country nor traveled the Untied States to make a clear answer, but this what I believe.

I don't think so. I think that there are good and bad drivers from every culture. I am Black and I am a careful, alert (almost all the time), traffic law abiding driver. I have some White associates who drive the same and some Black associates who drive the same but I know some White and Black people who drive like maniacs with little regard to caution. I think driving skills are learned and fine-tuned with driving experience regardless of culture.

There are cultures, or perhaps some people from these cultures, who have not made the psychological transition from horses or horse and wagon to motor vehicles.
They drive their cars in the same manner as they would ride a horse, or ride in a horse-drawn vehicle.
Please do not think I am being racist in making this next statement. I lived for almost twenty years among one tribe of Native American people who refer to their pickup trucks as "horses", and many of them drive accordingly. I have also seen white people drive in the same manner.

Have you ever driven in India. There are no lights, no police signals, they drive at high speed and can stop within a hair's breadth of the other car and rarely are there any accidents.
They must be the best drivers I've seen (but too much hooting, so noisy!!)

l'm not sure, if a country has strict driving laws they will probably drive better than a country with relaxed laws. The ltalians are pretty bad drivers, l live in Malta and they are horrendous because they get away with it. But in Britain we drive reasonably safe because the law in quite strict.

No I think people drive a certain way because they mimick their parents maneurisms or whoever it was that taught them to drive. Why would race have anything to do with this? Why do people keep asking all these dumb questions about race?

I think so, her in Japan I swear the Japanese like to get the red lights. It's like when the light is green they slow down, but when it is yellow they hurry up to the light so they can sit there the whole time. Plus many go through red lights as well. Very weird drivers if you ask me.

I don't think carelessness and recklessness are race or culture related. This is more of a moral and responsibility thing.
