look in a town center in uk/usa on a friday night, i think the word 'civilised' is pushing it?

well coz . Saudi - arabia was the land from where the sun of guidence arose ... islam is the most civilized religion ever ... thats why .. the muslim lands have low crime rate than western countires ....

It's because in a country like the USA, we've got so many different types of people living in small areas. In Saudi, while there are still different types of people, there aren't as many different types. But generally in the Middle East, there is an awful lot of crime. Watched the news lately?

Muslim countries in general have very strict laws. Criminals do not enjoy the kinds of rights and protections they enjoy under western democracies. Punishment is swift and harsh. It should be a lesson to people who believe that harsh justice is not a deterent, but alas some people will just never get the fact that real punishment definitely has an effect on the crime rate.

Um, don't they do things like chop off your hand if you are caught stealing? I guess having walking object lessons like that in your home town might serve as a powerful deterent to crime.

Because they are a very strict country, they will not tolerate any crime, people `are punished severly. People obviously respect the law, also bear in mind there is no alcohol at all, which is the cause of so much trouble in the UK.

Well, lets see, adultry gets you stoned to death, if you're a woman anyway, stealing gets your hand chopped off, and most everything else gets your head lopped off, so I suppose if we started punishing like that, we'd be pretty much crime free too. The prisons would be pretty empty, which would cause a lot of job loss, but it would cut down on crime.

They will kill you or chop off your hand for certain crimes. Most criminals do not want that. Many things that are crimes in the West, like beating your wife and impregnating your daughter are normal and accepted part of Saudi life. Since fewer things are illegal and they accept more evil acts, fewer people break the few laws.

cos the so-called civilised nation is following law written by human hand and mind which is really flawed.
Imagine in my country, u steal 1 million, your punishment is lets say 500,000 and little time in prison. U still got an extra 500,000.
If u steal 1,000, your punishment is 5,000 and little time in prison.
Is this fair.

because people in those countries are afraid of what will happen to them. Harsh prison conditions, getting a hand cut off for stealing. People here aren't afraid and in fact it's a better life for some people to be in jail.
