A newborn foetus has the fathers' genetic material as well that of the mother; how much weight does the father have in the decision of whether the baby is born?

If the baby isn't born yet, he has no deciding factor as far as I'm concerned because he isn't the one who's carrying it, nor will he be the one to give birth to it. If the mother choses to abort the fetus, he can only have a say to it if they're married. But if not, he has about 20% decision in it. It really depends because if he doesn't want the baby to be born - it all depends on the decision of the mother. He may have given the sperm but he sure isn't the one who'll suffer for it physically for 9 months nor will he be the one in pain when it is due to be born. He isn't the one who will breastfeed it either. If he's not prepared to be a father, he has no business making decisions for the mother.

If the child has your given last name at birth, then you have 50-50%.....If the Mother says she doesn't know the father, then you have no rights until you agree to a paternity test.........You'll need a lawyer.......
The father has no right on the birth of the child.Since the mother carries the child for 9 mos. the decision becomes hers alone....If you didn't want the child born, then you should have use a condom.........In the meantime, when you make a baby, as a man you are responsible for the child payments every month until the child is 18! How does that grab you?.
Unwanted pregnancies are going to happen until a generation can either say no, or use birth control...Because sex is always going to happen....Its a natural thing and people live for the moment in most cases(lust). They don't think ahead of what if?

No! And no again. And I am a man.

Why? Fathers do not love their children unconditionally. Most mothers do. If I had a child I would want all the rights but I am not an ordinary pig of a man. So because this would be problematic in my life, I decided not to have children. Again, there are those fathers who are exceptional but most straight boys are vulgar brutes who are just deriving pleasure from sex. They do not see the responsibility that comes with fatherhood. Africa is a fine example: just look at how many poor women are left to raise large families alone. It is not too much better here in the USA. If there were no maintainance laws, these pigs would probably pay nothing for their own offspring who are an extension of themselves whether they like it or not.

It's the woman's right to choose whether to carry a baby or not. When the baby's born, you can have more than 50% rights - you can look after it all the time, every day for the rest of your life and let the mother rest. How does that sound??

If the father doesn't want a child to be born, and he has supplied his genetic material anyway, then I suppose he has the right to reach an agreement with the mother to allow her to go someplace else to live and raise the child and never seek child support if she prefers not to have an abortion. Does that sound cold? Kind of, but two people engaged in an act that is generally meant to produce children so they should regard children as a possible result.

not much as to whether the baby is born or not, but if the baby is born then you have equal rights to the mother.

that would depend on the situation. if the father didnt take responsibility then why should he have rights? being family isnt about blood, its about love and connection.
