My Zafira is actually a European import being an Opel. The spec is exactly the same as UK models, but we got the onboard computer normally charged as extra, as standard with the Opel. We bought through the company 'Motorpoint of Derby,' on the internet and saved ourselves nearly £4500 on UK prices for a brand new car. You get a full warrantly and have no problem with servicing at the main dealers.

I love my Zafira. It's big on the inside small on the outside which makes it easier to park than the larger MPV's. It has great seat flexibilty seating a maximum of 7. Even in the two seats at the back I have seated 2 adults comfortably giving them extra leg room by pulling the seat forward.

Luggage stow is excellent. If you have a large item to transport seats 6 and 7 fold down flat into the floor. Then flip up the middle seats base vertically, pulling them forward right up to the front two seats giving you a massive amount of space. In some other MPV's you would have to take the rear to seats out!

My Elegance came with power steering, cruise control, onboard computer (as standard in Euro models), front and rear electric windows, electric sunroof, electric wing mirrors. air con, cd player, anti-lock brakes, traction control, driver/passenger airbags, remote central locking. Driver's seat can be adjusted vertically as well as horizontally to get the required leg room and driving position. Six of the seats come with their own cup holders.

The steering is responsive which is great around town. You don't feel you're driving a larger car. Fuel consumption is good also. I manage between 32 and 37mpg around town generally and about 44mpg on longer journeys. Servicing costs are quite low, and it's reliable. I haven't had to take my car to the garage once during the 4 years I have had mine.

Good for:-

Seat flexibility, storage, sitting high up, fuel consumption, reliability, on board computer(standard in Euro imports)

Not so good for:-

Seating comfort (a little hard), plastic interior, door post blind spots.

So I would highly recommend the Zafira, and the 2.2 Elegance in particular. And if you don't mind the Opel badge, save yourself alot of money and buy an import. Go on do it! I did and I love it!

or if you want a smaller engine theres the 2.o dti whivh is definately a good engine and reliable

Vauxhall Zafira. The best we've ever driven - nice and compact from the outside, but shedfulls of space on the inside - dead reliable and really economical if driven appropriately...hope this helps.
