can u trust your conclusion if you think that youve found him?

if u seek god with all ur heart - then u must be pretty sure he exists. So u did not start ur search from a neutral - open minded position. You already knew god existed before u started seeking him. So there really was no point in the whole exercise.

Would anyone seek santa claus or the tooth fairy with all their heart?

You can seek anything with all your heart before you know it exists. If I tell you I know there's treasure buried in your back garden, it's got to be worth a good dig. Once you've dug it up and found nothing, then you can confidently say, "there is no treasure buried in my back garden". On the otherhand, you might just become a lot richer...

The point is if you seek god then the chances are you know he already exists yes because he is in your heart, you already have preconceived ideas as to what he looked like so no not from a neutral open-minded position. There still would be a point because you could be surprised about your findings if you found out that you weren't right after all.

Why do we need to seek Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy when everyone knows that they are made up to make children go to bed, whereas no-one can truly be telling the truth if they said god didn't exist.

I thought he might exist but I wasn't anywhere close to being a Christian, I thought they were boring and had the missed the point of life, to have fun. I was having so much fun that I nearly destroyed my marriage. Then I went to a baptism ceremony and whilst I was there I felt the presence of God in a way you wouldn't understand unless you had felt it yourself. I was only there to support my mate, and I was embarrassed at first (I'm in the UK where Christianity isn't such a big deal) but by the end of the event I had been baptised in the Holy Spirit (which I'd never heard of) and healed of depression. This happened without anyone praying over me or telling me to pray, I simply felt God and knew He was watching me, and wanted to help me get my life right. I did question a lot of stuff after I became a Christian but God has never let me down, unlike my friends, family etc even my cheating hubby, God has promised me things will get better and I will be used by Him to give the gospel and change lives. It's not believing in god that ultimately makes the difference, it's having a meeting with Jesus. You don't get flooded with pure, mind-boggling love when you seek the tooth fairy.

The bible says that even demons know that there is a God. Seeking God with all your heart is not about believing He exists but finding a real relationship with Him.

You know that the the Queen exists - but is your heart engaged in a love relationship with hers - No!

Yes you can trust your conclusions. Many(not all) of us know in our heart that God exists. But it is still right to seek Him because quite often our weakness/sinful nature as humans keep Him a bit far from us. When you truly find Him, He changes you in a way that you will trully trust and recognize.

You put some sugar in water, it dissolves, you are sure it is there somewhere, so start looking for the sugar in water with total trust in your heart that it is there: but unless you do the process of crystallisation correctly and patiently, you can't find the sugar: or, you can enjoy the sweet taste of sugar if you sip that water!
Yes, you seek God with all your heart, do the process patiently: and, there are some experiences in life, yours and others' that give you the taste of God, to help you along, with your experiment of seeking God! Good luck, Godspeed!

God is the end result of a failed search for truth by a very shallow mind, provided that any search was made at all instead of swallowing the pile of delusional bilge that was spoon fed to you as a child

I find it disturbing that because religionists can't face the fact they don't know something, they jump on the first manure wagon that passes by and call it "Truth".

To find god, you must put on your god helmet. To do this, just stretch your sphincter muscle over your ears.

Let me try to substitute "god" in your sentence with "life-long partner" (or lover, if you like)

Following your logic, I would have started out assuming he exist. And when I find him, I should tell him: "Darling, you know, you exist because I believe you do -- you are not real. Our love is pointless because it was all made-up, by ME."

No one will seek Santa or fairy, because they are clearly legends. But God? I would at least give some benefit of doubt.

There actually is a point to seeking God because many people think that they know God, but it is clear that there is no substance....They are certain that they have found God, and if they did, you would see spiritual fruit (patience, kindness, love, joy, etc.)

So if they don't know God, then where is he? You have to spiritually seek to find that answer...And being humans in a physical world that is so demanding with our time and attention, very few ever take a time out to honestly find out who God really is....
