I always seem to learn another thing I need in my diaper bag, and its been almost 9 months! I think I finally have it under control but what do you parents have that might help me next time I go out?

Gave up on the diaperbag thing a long time ago. I carry a larger purse and depending on how long I'll be out carry an extra diaper or 2, some wipes in a small ziplock, and a bag, in case of a messy change. I breastfeed, but if I've had to stop when baby is 9months, I'll carry a small 4 oz. bottle or 2.

If I'll be out for 5 hours or more, a small bag of cereal or a couple of teething cookies, plus a small toy, gets me away and back again without any trouble.

My child is 2, seems like the diaper bag weighs more than she does, but I'd rather be prepared.
I carry diapers, wipes, a lap pad, extra clothes and socks, a jacket (if it's warm out and not being worn), her blanket, an extra one to use if I have to lay her down on something to change her while I'm out, infant tylenol, desitin, some books, one or two small toys, sunscreen, a plastic grocery bag for dirty things, her sippy cup with drink, and some snacks.
Also, as a baby I would add any bottles and two pacifiers (in case one gets thrown on the ground!) also a burp cloth or two. And a jar or two of food if she uses it.

I used to pack everything but the kitchen sink it seemed. I never left without my son's favorite blanket or toy, and I always had a spare bottle/diaper/wipes. You just never know. Also, a toy to play with while they are in their car seats.

By the way, loved the flask answer.

I packed two large lap pads, several diapers, wipes, Desitin Creamy, anti-bacterial hand sanitizer, at least two outfits in case a change of clothes was necessary, small baby toys, a few books, two bottles, and two blankets (one light, one heavier) at all times.
