Even if they don't get arrested, the wives simply divorce them so they don't have to take it. Men who beat their wives will be severely punished by God. Besides that if the wives don't forgive the husbands, the husbands will burn in hell eternally.
By the way, husbands of all religions beat wives because they do not practise religion, do not realise that they will be judged one day and will be severely punished for it.
But if the woman complains to the police the husbands are put in jail. The problem only comes in cases where the wife is completely dependant on the husband and therefore can't complain.

The muslims I know wouldn't dream of beating their wives. I think maybe you are misinformed. The ones that beat their wives are not true muslims. But in some countries No they don't get arrested. Men are supposed to run the homes and the police ususally don' t step into marital problems.

1st of all our mens dont beat us. but when some do then yes they do get arrested and they are also punished -- both by human law and in Hellfire. but most of them dont bet their wives. some do -- those who are uneducated and below poverty line.
but it happens all the time in every part of the world. like for eg --when u go to Bombay/Chennai, India -- u will see some hindu men fully drunk and beating their wives. and bet me, they are not muslims.
no but i know some women from other countries who are domestically abused all the time. why dont u go turn on ur TV and switch on the Discovery Crime Cases. that will give u a better info.

hey lady..whether the husbands r muslims, jews, christians,hindus or wotever religion,all those should get arrested if they beat their wife and tht can happen only if the wife have enuf guts to go to the police to file a complaint.so pls dont just think any crap abt any religion

Gender equality is becoming a universal cause, so we hope that the laws of various countries will change suitably to this ideal. However, laws would be effective only with the spport of a proper education. Let us strongly support this cause and apply it first in our families.
