Why do these very religious christians feel the need to push their religion and point of veiw on to people who are not of the same belief? I am not sayiny they are all like this. And why do they feel the need to judge and "bible bash" people who don't believe what they do or disagree with them. Who is to say that 1 specific belief is right or wrong

From their point of view, they think they are saving us from an eternity of punishment. It's rather sad, really. The world would be a much better place without such corrosive superstition.

I am a christian also so first let me start by apologizing on behalf of any christian who has come off harsh or aggressive. Our Bible teaches us to do all things with kindness. Although you may have already heard, the foundation of our faith is built on Jesus the Son of God who suffered and died on a cross so that whoever would believe in Him would receive eternal life. Christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus. I can only speak from first hand experience that giving my life to Jesus was truly a Devine experience. Once I did its like everything in life began to make sense and I had so much peace and joy. Jesus said He is the Only way and when we share our faith with others we are simply extending out a life jacket to those who otherwise will drown. If you really want to know the truth you will find it and remember all truth is narrow. There is also so much scientific and historical evidence that proves the accuracy of the Bible. If you like you could check out a couple of websites: creationevidence.org or drdino.com then click on download then check out some very informing videos.

If you open the door for a Christian to speak, then you should not complain about the answer. If they bring up the subject out of nowhere then, that is wrong and you have every right to tell them that you are offended. Be honest...some people antagonize Christians just so that they can point a finger at them. I'd like to add that some cults claim to be Christians but are not. True Christians will tell you that their denomination are not the only body of Christ.

I guess the christians want to share the good feel with non christians. They don't see it as pushy but I do. There is no such thing as one "best" religion. In the past the Catholic church made B I G mistakes by pushing South/Mid Americas population into christian belief.

I have been a Christian all my life and I have many friends who are not as much into believing as I do but they are still very good friends of mines. I accept them for who they are and they accept me for who I am.

Not all Christians are pushy. If the whole world were Christians, who would we be challenged by? I think the world is a much better place with differences in opinions. That way we all can stay on our toe's and be searching for the truth continually.

Peace

I just answered a question that says was exactly what you were saying. I am a christian, but I use it to help others, not try to convert them. Preaching dsoesn't work on non-christians. They will feel pushed an I don't blame them. People who believe strongly in something want others to also... like share the joy. But thats not the way to go about it.

Part of being a "good Christian" is testifying or witnessing. That is, spreading the Word of God. Personally, I find that if pushed onto people not ready &/or willing to hear it, it tends to be a turn off rather than bringing them to God. Therefore, I prefer to limit my witnessing to letting the other person bring up the subject or if I have something specific that happened that I can credit God with I will briefly state it and leave it at that. But that's just me.

It could be one of many reasons. maybe they are so happy they are trying to share their happiness with you (and obviously getting it wrong). It is also because Christians are called to testify and convert. If you are finding their attentions an irritation, tell the to leave you alone. apparently if the jehovah's witnesses, you just say to them lets pray and start the "our father" or something and they will run away. I have yet to try this one out. By the way, Christians are not allowed to judge.

Christians believe the Bible.
We believe that by following Christ that we are following the path to Heaven.

We want you to be on that path too and out of concern for your soul, we "preach". God commands us to go into all the world and spread the gospel.

Why does it bother you so that we are concerned for you?
