What makes you say that cats are lazy? Just because they sleep most of the time does not make them lazy, and even if it does Nobel Prize winners have written books in praise of laziness (or idleness) as the way to develop creativity. Maybe you should be more like a cat...At any rate, let them be...And don't go making anthropocentric judgments about their behavior.

It only seems like they're lazy. Their metabolism is different. A cat uses its energy in short spurts, like they would do if they had to hunt their prey...which a cat that's a pet does not have to do.
But cats are not always lazy, Some cats are more active and playful than others.

Cats are not a lazy as you think. The reason that they sleep so much is unlike people who get a deep sleep at night .cats sleep in the first stages of sleep which requires more sleep. The reason is that they are always ready to hunt. If you notice even when they sleep their ears move to follow sounds. That is one reason that they sleep so much.

Cats sleep more than any other mammal, requiring up to 20 hours of sleep a day. They're nocturnal creatures, and perhaps those creature that would have been prey thousands of years ago were most easily accessible during those early morning hours that cats seem to enjoy so much.

Dont be fooled , just cos a cat looks like its sleeping...it aint. ever hears of a catnap? they might look totally relaxed but can be on full alert in a nanosecond. Maybe their amazing reflexes need the rest period?
