Darwin :
Was Married to A Christian, and brought up in a religious household.
He did not initially doubt the literal truth of the Bible. He attended a Church of England school, then at Cambridge studied Anglican theology to become a clergyman and was fully convinced by William Paley's teleological argument that design in nature proved the existence of God. However, his beliefs began to shift during his time on board HMS Beagle.

Began to lose Faith

He questioned what he saw—wondering, for example, at beautiful deep-ocean creatures created where no one could see them
This idea was his misunderstanding, because he didn’t know this:

Ecclesiastes 3:
11. He (God) hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

The 1851 death of Darwin's daughter, Annie, was the final step in pushing an already doubting Darwin away from the idea of a beneficent God

He didn’t Know
Corinthians 15
55. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
And that his daughter was safe in the arms of God in eternity

The in-depth theory of evolution was thought out then published in 1858. All this happened years after Annie’s death and his loss in the belief of God, seeing he latter claimed to be agnostic, not necessarily atheist, but still a sign of lost faith. Could it be that his theories were fueled by misconceptions, bitterness, and emotions due to the loss of his daughter. Rather than being totally based on truth in observations? I believe many people are atheists, agnostics, evolutionists, skeptics, and scorners do to lack of the revelation of scriptures, bitterness, and misconceptions. What do you think?

Darwin was a student of medicine, but he soon found out it wasn't for him. At the time he lived, the only way to have a respectable future or study nature was to get a theology degree.

When he went on his trip on the Beagle, he was convinced God existed. As he used the power of observation and reasoning rather than accepting what he was told as truth, he soon became convinced that what he had learned was wrong. Because his wife was a strong Christian, he decided not to publish the origin of the species. He also knew that at the time he and his family would be seen in a negative light. It wasn't until Wallace came near to discovering the same thing that Darwin took the initiative of writing his findings and publishing them.

I'm sure, with his degree in theology, he knew that scripture much more than you do.

No he just used logic with his observations. This may or may not have anything to do with his observations of evolution.
Most Christians have no problem with evolution being the means of how God created the world. American fundamentalists do, how ever they are not the world or the majority.

You can quote as many biblical texts as you like from the bible , the earth isn't flat and evolution does exist. Enlightened people dont have a problem with extreme Christians simply because your wrong, slightly frustrated and bemused, but not bitter

I think that you're making excuses for people who need no excuses. Just because something's written, doesn't mean people are going to believe it. I can write a book, too - doesn't mean it's the word of God. Belief doesn't necessarily have anything to do with having the right scriptures 'revealed' to you. I used to be a Christian. Now I'm not. It has nothing to do with missing a couple scriptures here and there. Just because the words are there, doesn't mean I'm going to believe that it's the inspired work of the Lord. Not even close.

Can anybody prove god exists?
Can anybody prove god doesn't exist?
Can anybody prove our knowledge about god is sufficient
Can anybody prove there is eequal chance of doubt?
Can anybody prove without god also, we can move ahead?

99.99% of people in the world is stuck in some sort of questions like above. Eat well, sleep well, concentrate on your job, help the neighbour, Don't kill even a mosquito unnecessarily, Talk well, behave well, Be into right way of living, do not indulge in anything overly. If you do all the above, I don't think you require god or books like bible., qurann etc. Do not even believe that Einstein, Arcamedees, Neuton, darwin are gods either. Question their theory. They all helped including christ for the evolution of human kind. Why do you want some book, personal image to think as perfect being. There is nothing like that and will never have. Even god is not perfect if he exists. that is the reason we are all in dark. Move ahead and keep finding the truth. The moment you believe in God, Science or in Aethism, you are finished...

Since his theories have been expanded and improved on and also been proven over and over I think that his ideas were just an insight into the way evolution works. You can see it for yourself in many many ways, and see proofs of evolution in almost any natural history museum in the world. This probably did not change his belief in a "beneficent god" as you say, but strengthened it.

Your lack of belief in evolution doesn't make it any less real, nor does your belief that evolution pre-supposes the non-existence of God does not mean that it is in there. Study DNA, and then you will know that "evolution" as SCIENTISTS know it and not fundamentalists know it is quite real. God created evolution, mankind just keeps mucking up the facts. Evolution only says that we probably all came from a common ancestor - nowhere does it say that "there is no God". You have been listening to religious propaganda. You don't have to believe in evolution - it will get along fine without you.

For me, my atheism was a result of well thought out logical observations. I used to be a Christian, but I looked into the Christian beliefs, beliefs of other religions, and the nature of belief, itself.

There just isn't any good reason to think gods exist. There is plenty of evidence that they are just made up by man.

You know it's possible to believe in God and to take the Theory of natural selection seriously.
A lot of important scientist have been (or are) quite religious (like Benjamin Franklin, Galilei, Copernicus, Einstein and, yes, Darwin).

Quoting passages from the book of fables and stories is no convincing argument that we should abandon logic.
Many of us were Christians at one time and simply left because over a period of time we saw that the very passages you quote had no power and no validity in real life. We saw that all the passages that are quoted per prayer for example, do not deliver. So in search of the truth we tried science and logical reasoning. You should visit www.godisimaginary.com

I think evolutionists with deep thinking and scientific observation would not shout out any denial of spiritual matters.
And religious people with true knowledge from the Messenger of God would adopt the same attitude concerning material matters.
Men in this advanced age (who can make this earth hell or heaven) should learn more, labor more, love more rather than quarelling, criticizing, hating...
