In this interview with Jakarta-based correspondent Geoff Thompson, the Indonesian Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir argues that the convicted Bali bombers should not be executed because although they planned the nightclub bombing, the operation was “hijacked” by CIA agents who planted a “micro-nuclear bomb.”
Bashir blatantly peddles these internet conspiracy theories and teaches a fundamentalist Islamic creed at his religious school at Solo in central Java.
The vision of Indonesia promoted by Bashir is one of radical change where democracy would be subverted to “Allahocracy” and sharia law imposed.
Sharia according to Bashir means that men would be entitled to beat their wives, thieves would have their hands cut off and adulterers would be stoned.

amazing isnt, the muslims justify it because either the woman has been warned or she isnt beaten that hard, an evil evil religion

Persons having such fundamentalist, dogmatic and fanatic views should first be beaten, not the ones who happen to be different from them, such as females, believers of other religions, regions,etc.

It has various meanings, one of which involves no injurious force whatsoever.
BEAT: 1 : to strike repeatedly

The Sunnah explains the amount of force to be applied. It is the old toothstick, it is lightweight and cannot cause injury. In addition, it is only to be used after a process of other methods are used, such as the man separating in the bed from her etc.
I think something has to be said for the translation, though. Beat has been the way it was translated in the past, but now that people only seem to associate that with severe beating and violence and injury, I'm sure the translations will later reflect that. The arabic is an arabic word that requires going to the sunnah to understand it, so there's no confusion when you're reading it in arabic.
And this mention of this Bashir guy, I don't know what you think that has to do with Islam. Should we blame christianity for every crime christians commit? ......And believe me, there are many christians who believe that by doing the crime, they are pleasing God.

Yes, not only is it true, but it is law in Northern Nigeria regions...
In 2004.. a young woman was ordered to be stones to eath by a sharia law court and judges... Because she had a child with NO husband... The execution was posponed 2 years, until her daughter was 2 years of age... Then in 2004 , they simply stoned her to death.... Who wants more of this absurd torture and barbaric belief? If they are so many Muslim it's mostly because they have no other choice... Want your thong cut? If you try to deny Allah... you die for sure... This is not a religion... it is the mafia.... Stick or die......
Who would want their 9 year old daughter married to a muslim?
The worst is that for Muslims, all this is NORMAL...

You know what is wrong & what is right. Im not justifying husbands beating their wives, but dont highlight just a part of the law & condemn a whole religion. There could be some reason why its given in the law or how this law came into being.

Husbandsare allowed to beat their wives only in the VERY extreme cases. Such as when his wife is having an affair with another women. First, he is supposed to warn her. AFter a number of warnings, only than is he allowed to beat her.

Please do not exaggerate, the fact that Islam allows husband to beat his wife is really in a very particular situations and circumstances and with a big care, that means he has not to wound or to provoke any kind of skin break on her body.

Yes a husband may beat his wife if she refuses to submit.
An adult male any age may marry and consumate a girl as
young as 9 years old.
