I have seen Muslim women sitting in the watter with their burka
when I worked in Middle East. It was on the beach in Aramco where Mutawa were not allowed.Poor wretches.

Woman can go swimming in swimsuits if there are no men around. Otherwise it is ok. But there are places where women can go swimming while dressed from head to toe and no one says anything.
But it is not allowed that women should swim among men. I think all Muslim women should know how to swim (I too learnt at a young age). As long as the purpose if for learning and protection against drowning and not for showing off in front of men.
Women can swim with their hubbies in their private pools. :)

I think human being can survive without swimming on earth. Many animals survive on earth without knowing swimming. Is swimming all that important? I didn't swim for almost an year now.
Dear there are good and bad in all religions and religious books. Some religion born for desert and some for river shores and some for moutaineous regions. If there is any dress code mentioned means it may be required for that climate. None of the religions proved right at all times. People foolishly believe is a different thing. Is there anybody who could overcome death with the belief in god or in any system? Only because you believe in certain god, made your blood green? Why to fight. Let my sisters ware whatever they want. Once they understand there is nothing godly inside the dress, they may remove it. Anybody believes in a system or dogma is living a dead life....anybody against any dogma is also leading a dead life.

Muslim women aren't allowed to wear bikinis to where all the men can watch like baywatch.. and i am sure as hell proud.
Now can a women go to a beach.. yes so long as there are no man. Covering of head is only when there are people other then their husbands, sons, uncles, nephews.
Nevertheless, in the middle east, there are beaches and swimming pools that are women only and so you don't have preying eyes of men stripping them down.

Muslim women are allowed to go to the beach but that absolutly does not mean that they are supposed to go there naked or almost naked!!!. They can wear their clothes and go. No harm done. They can swim in mini swimming costumes when there are no males around (except for their husbands ofcourse).

first for ur answer, yes women do go to beaches depending on the countries they live. how can u expect a woman in Afghanistan with hardly any water to go swimming? it all depends on the kind of societies u live. In conservative socities like India, women of any faith hardly swim on beaches, they dont even think of a sunbath, as they live in tropics.
clothes were meant to cover our bodies not display them, right?
ever taken a keen look at the image or statue of Virgin Mother Mary? was she ever shown with robes even above her ankles? she always covers her head, ever had the time to notice? why do u think she practised covering herself?
that very same reason is why a muslim woman is allowed to cover herself. freedom does not come by displaying the skin and talking the talk. it is the responsibity and trust people have in u. it is in u showing to carry ur elegance and grace of WOMANHOOD.
people may say that we carry bombs in my hijab, we ofcourse feel hurt but we forgive them, but that would not stop us from covering myself. i respect that u stand up for what u beleive and i will stand up for what i beleive. also when u stand up for shedding a small part of ur clothes, then i stand up for covering my body.
remember, a woman's adornments are richer then the riches of Heaven and earth combined. safe gaurd ur bodies and chastity. no religion says display ur skin and flaunt urself as far as i know..
can u give me one religion that says, go along and shed ur clothes? if people say that it is freedom, then they are not practising their faith well. it is just not only in islam, it is in all religions -- to be modest, both men and women..

it ultimately depends on where they are!if they are Muslim but are from a country where the government is secular,they can wear bikini,or swim suit,,skimp skirts,tops,clubbing smoke etc,,so don't buy that,all of they are the same!its ignorance and lack of exposure

yes they they r allowed to swim to drive and work. what ever they want except to do topless show because its immoral and degrading the women. like in Western countries
