It is just plain irritating. When someone asked about somthing that has nothing to do with their religion, these people like to preach and talk about their religion.
If anyone was interested, they will ask. So if no one was about it, kindly just go to other questions that were askign about your religon.
Why? By doing that, your God says you can gain access to heaven easier?
I seem to see this particular religion group of people doing it. It is always people of this religion that do this. I don't see people from otehr religion doing it. Just notice those who is going to reply me with anger, these are probably the ones.
I really don't get it. Why? Why keep talking about your God when no one is asking?

I see that most people already got what I am trying to say. But some stubborn ones are still trying to preach even in this question, I really just don't get it.
In my country, we have all kinds of religions, and we all live in harmony. Everyone have their own beliefs, but I don't see these people saying, come, join me at my temple, or join me at my mosque. They answer questions about their religion most willingly, but only when someone is asking about it. Its that straight forward.
I know that in this religion, you are suppose to spread the words of god, but then again, which religion wouldn't want us to do that? Every religion wants their followers to spread the words of god, but do so in a appropriate way. Don't jam your knowledge of your religion down everyone's throats, cause we are feeling suffocated!
And so many best answers here its hard for me to choose just one :)

It's part of the psychological appeal of religion. Those people feel superior to you. They "know" and you don't therefore their better than you. Will they ever admit to it- no.

We live in an open society so it is their right to do so. But these evangelists should not feel offended when asked questions like:
1) I totally believe in my own Belief, so you can keep what you believe to yourself ! How about you joining my Belief?
2) Do you respect all the other religions in your country ? If yes, you MUST NOT profess that yours is the only true belief. By doing so, you are causing the possiblity of religious conflict.
("conflict" is a mild term.. it could be "war" . Look at all the religious wars over the last hundreds of years. Still going on today because of the insensitive people mentioned in the question above).
3. Do you believe in a multi-religious country?
4. Do you try to convert Muslims? If not, why?

Spreading the Gospel has nothing to do with getting to Heaven easier. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus. I like to show people that I am a child of God by my actions. I do agree that Christians should not cram the Word of God down ones throat. You have to understand that many people do not know Christ and are too shy to ask.

Two main reasons.
First. Most religions encourage their followers to proselytize to others. You know, spread the good news and all the rest of it. So by adopting a religion you have to do it.
And secondly, it's just human nature to try to share what we think is good with others, even if others may not want to know. Haven't you ever found anything you think is really interesting and fascinating, and tried to share it with others in the hope that they would enjoy it as much as you? If you have, you will no doubt have met with the occasional adverse and unexpected reaction because what you find thrilling, others may find boring.
Religious people are no different; they often get so wrapped up in what they have found in their belief they just naturally want to share it.
Everybody does it one way or another, and sooner or later. At least until they grow old and jaded and come to understand that sometimes it's better to just let people get on with it. And then they get accused of not caring about others.
It's easy enough to say "Thanks, but no thanks" isn't it?
And if religious people want to talk to each other, and you don't want to hear it, why eaves drop? Just walk on by. It's that simple :o)

i imagine your question is unfaithful. What faith dosen't proselytising and which one truly appreciate different religions. there is not a unmarried faith in the historic previous of this international that has been tolerant. if so, there must be a lot less wars. look it up you received't discover any. I actual have suddenly met diverse human beings which have tried to convince me that i changed into incorrect, such as Buddist and Pagans. even as it includes christian beliefs we proselytising. that's the way that some christians that do it that ought to have made you balk. i recognize i'm Christian and it has got here about to me and it makes me balk. in view that Paganism changed into considered satanic for decades you receives that from human beings. you ought to listen the flack i'm getting for being Catholic

I don't get it either. Sometimes, I think they just want more people to suffer through life with them. Misery loves company, and all that.
I have a religion. I like my religion very much. I love my deity. But I don't go about preaching to people, trying to convert them by harassment, and insulting everything I can think of about them. If they want someone to convert, they should show by action how good a person they are. No one is going to convert to their religion if they're spewing obnoxiousness at all times. Sadly, they don't get that. And if you try to tell them this, they start crying 'persecution'! *sigh*
If they want persecution so badly, we could try bringing back the lions and colosseum treatment... >.>

despite the fact i dont agree with preaching ... and i only answer questions now regarding my beliefs when asked
i know that when i first found my faith , i wanted to shout it from the rooftops ... for about a week lol
but i quickly learned that as much as it made so much sense for me , it wasnt as easy for others to understand or share my enthusiasm
so in a sense i understand those who do it but ... hopefully like me they will learn that the best way to get speak to others is in whispers not shouts xx

Tell me about it. I was raised Christian...right now..i have taken a step back. I never preached about anything. I know what it is like to be on the receiving end. After reading the bible and wondering about real life...Religion really does make me wonder......
